Pros
Flexible when you need time off WFH is great
Kontras
Nepotism and favoritism in the QA department Exclusionary team culture Poor management support No recognition or career growth Raises are rare and minimal plus you have to beg like a beggar I spent four years in the Quality Assurance department, and unfortunately the experience was overwhelmingly negative. The supervisor plays favorites and tends to hire only people from his personal circle, which creates a very cliquish environment. Since I had no prior connection to anyone, I constantly felt excluded and unsupported. There is little to no real management support. Even when you take on extra work, put in maximum effort, and maintain very high productivity, your contributions go unnoticed. Feedback is often discouraging, and recognition for hard work simply doesn’t exist. In four years, I only received one raise for $1. There were no real opportunities for growth, development, or acknowledgment. I recently moved on to a much better job with significantly higher pay, and I’m grateful to be out of that toxic, dead-end environment. Good luck to those still there or considering joining. I strongly recommend exploring other options unless you are absolutely desperate.
