Pros

CCC focuses on building products for the automotive car insurance industry. They basically make money when someone either gets into a car accident or when a auto body shop fixes a car, so what do you expect? I’ll start with the Pro’s It’s a paycheck. Yes you will be paid. They pay crap money below the industry and they will justify the low pay because they may give you an annual bonus. Maybe a bonus. maybe a bonus? Depends on the relationship you have with your managers and if you kiss enough butt through the year or. Or. They will hire you at a low salary and tell you that you might get a bonus someday. The bonus is also prorated meaning that you will get less depending on when you start at the Compnay. Keep that in Mind. Perks and benefits. The insurance plans are as follows. 1. Crap 2. Expensive 3. Complicated. If you don’t mind about paying a lot of money for insurance. And if you don’t get the annual wellness discount. You will pay out of your mind with all kinds of high premiums and deductibles. There are no perks. In fact CCC has taken away perks. They used to give you at least cups and plates to eat off. But now you must bring your own. Not to mention the reusable cups that are offered are all old and dirty. There are no perks. You can enjoy the free water, crappy burnt coffee and gym. But the gym of old and dirty as well. They equipment is the early 90’s and the locker rooms are gross. But it’s a free gym. So yea. That’s about all the Pro’s I can think of. But seriously there are much worse places to work at, CCC is for sure better than Enron.

Kontras

Cons. Well. Where do I begin. There are no perks. The office is old and smells terrible. The carpet is from the 1980’s. The culture is bizarre at best. It’s diverse but most people don’t speak English, so if you speak English you will be working with a lot of people who you will have trouble understanding. They have a culture of “Sink or swim mentally”, they will stick you with someone on the team and tell you good luck with the rest. CCC is probably the cheapest company I’ve ever worked for as well. I mean cheap. wouldn’t call them “lean,” I would just say cheap. How cheap are they? Well I wouldn’t be surprised if they make you bring your own toilet paper to work. This is not a joke. If you want let’s say a new monitor for your desk. You will have to ask your boss. Then they ask their boss. Then they ask their boss. Then 2 weeks later the finance team will approve it. Maybe..... Then IT will Order it. And a month later. You might get a new monitor if all these people do their jobs right. And they most Likely won’t. It’s ironic that a tech company doesn’t like to spend money on technology. You can’t even get an extra mouse or phone if you tried. They simply don’t get tech equipment in stock and they have this crazy approval process to buy anything you need. The managers act like tech equipment comes out of their bonuses or paychecks, and who knows it prob does. The training is awful. And lack there of. There’s no training and development and they don’t care. New people get hired and most of the time they are trained by mediocre employees. There’s no training teams. No one cares. If you are trained crappy. You won’t get a bonus and they will talk about you even though it is your fault. Let’s talk about communication. They have semi-annual meetings to talk about sales numbers etc. generally that’s great. But it doesn’t matter to you. They won’t pay you more or hire more help for your team. Or buy you new equipment. They will keep the money for themselves and make themselves seem more valuable so they can sell the company every 3 years. Yes. They sell the company every 3 years. Like clock work. So they basically tell you how much the company is valued and how great their numbers are. The CEO delivers the message and it’s 1 of 2 times a year you will see him. He’s pretty much a nomad who tells the leaders to under pay staff and keep the books clean so they can sell the company again. When you decide to quit the company. They will send you a nice Fedex to your house basically threatening you and telling you that you have a 2 year non compete clause. Meaning that they don’t want you to take their underpaid employees with you when you leave. Yes this is a company who won’t buy you a new monitor so can do your job. But they will spend $18 on a nice fedex to your house to remind you of the 2 year non compete. LOL. This is a company who if they could, pay you nothing at all. They pretend as though you should be grateful for having a job at CCC. Even employees who have been with the company for 10-30 years are treated like generic has beens. They don’t celebrate or acknowledge tenured employees at all. The saddest part about CCC is the fact that they do have employee who are hard workers and tenured but are held down to their same sad jobs because of the lack of training and development. There is very little and practically no growth. And the company generally hires outside for management level positions and above. You can check out managers linkedin pages for proof at CCC to see if they were hired as managers when they began. Let’s talk about the communication or lack there of. One of the things you’ll notice when you start at CCC is that it’s tough to communicate with the people on your team. People who work in other offices. And people who work on other teams. Why? Because HR doesn’t give you an organization chart to see who even works there. Why do they do this? your guess us as good as mine. There’s also no reliable phone book or online director. You literally will spend a solid week or two of your own time to just figure out who you should talk just to get your job done. It’s pure craziness and it starts with Hr. This is also a company that will purposefully under pay employees. If you want an example of a company practicing basis and gender inequality. Look no further than CCC. They also underpay people based on the teams they report to. You can do a job on 1 team and the same skilled Person on another team doing the same job will be paid less. Just because they are on a team that doesn’t pay as much. It’s a total mess and no one cares especially HR.

Pros

- work from home - no micro management unless you are not delivering

Kontras

- below average pay - juniors did not get a RSU refresher this year - managers get promoted to a new position every year without bringing any value - reluctant to adopt new technologies - no appreciation/benefit for engineers even if you go above and beyond
