Nice view of Auckland city from the office. Some good clients if you are lucky or favourite enough to get the opportunity to work for them.

Work is delegated depending on how favourite you are (very subjective); I worked almost exclusively for one client for 4 years and the Corporate partners were very resistant to extending other opportunities to me even when I showed an interest. Once your path is set there is little way to change it. Toxic atmosphere of intimidation and bullying across the firm from the top down. Lack of respect from Partners to legal and support staff. Low salary relative to performance expectation. There is no career path at Bell Gully for junior lawyers; the firm expects solicitors to leave to the UK after 3 years so squeezes all they can get out of solicitors. Even if you stick around after the holy grail 3 year mark you are treated as an 'imminent leaver' and career progression slows.
