Need for flexibility: The company’s organic setup means things aren’t always fully structured. Sometimes the roadmap isn’t defined yet and you need to figure things out as you go. Fast-paced environment: Being in e-commerce means things move quickly (it comes with the territory). It’s exciting and part of the Ask Phill philosophy to challenge and build the next, but on the flipside, it also means priorities can shift often and it can be a challenge to keep up.

Pros

Ask Phill is a company that embodies an entrepreneurial and passionate spirit. Since I started working here, I have often taken the initiative to change things beyond my direct responsibilities. This experience has shown me that anything is possible if you have good reasons and are willing to put in the effort. Additionally, we work for top mid-market and enterprise brands in e-commerce, which are both inspiring and motivating. Compared to our competitors, our portfolio stands out significantly, making it easy for people to get out of bed each day. We are working together with a young and diverse team, which allows to learn about various cultures and engage in interesting conversations.

Kontras

There have been significant managerial changes over the past few years, leaving some people unsatisfied. We transitioned to a hierarchical structure with heads, leads and directors, back to a completely flat organization led by the founders. Additionally, we have faced challenges in distributing and sharing knowledge among individuals, verticals and teams. This has resulted in high-pressure situations where people were not fully equipped to meet project delivery expectations.
