Kontras
- Lack of integrity - Zero productive feedback - No transparency by executives - Dishonest, terrifying company culture Upper management routinely pretends they've just learned that people want more transparency, and that they're implementing... it doesn't really matter what they claim they're doing about it. They do this periodically, and if you're there long enough you'll catch on. No one pretends they've just learned that people feel lied to repeatedly unless they already know about it and just don't care. There will be layoffs, and you won't know about them at all until they have already happened. People just disappear like there's a trap door under every employee and a goofy man pulling the string that opens them. People vanish and they are gone forever without so much as a goodbye. Once a layoff has happened, you will never know anything about how close you came to being part of it. You won't really know anything at all about why it happened. Management may pretend they've come to their senses and that going forward there will be transparency, but... nothing will change. You get the idea. Once in a while, one or two entire offices will just disappear as if swallowed by a great cataclysm. You'll think back to one week before when your manager was assuring you that these offices were proof that the company was doing well and valuing its people. You'll wonder if you've gone mad. Management will announce that they've learned people need more transparency and they'll do... it doesn't really matter. If you're someone who deeply does not care about other people, you might enjoy working here. It's a great place to be vaguely Machiavellian. This is a culture where pretending you care about other people will get you far. If you outright enjoy watching bad things happen to good people, you'll love it. If you're the kind of person who likes forming genuine and empathetic connections with your coworkers, building up lasting trust, and letting yourself love your work, this is not the place for you. The management will manipulate that desire to get their needs met and then coldly discard you one day like garbage. If you ask around at work about any of this, you'll be told some version of "you worry too much" or "you're being too sensitive". You'e not overreacting, it really is that bad. Evaluate your personal values and decide accordingly.
