Pros
Offered $35/hour for data collection and entry, including research. They claimed they had an office in Colorado and were opening a branch locally in the coming months, so they were hiring remotely before the branch opened.
Kontras
I was required to go through a text interview, sign and return an NDA, job offer letter, privacy policy, and code of conduct, as well as review the entire website and employee handbook. They then sent me tax forms to fill out and return, and required me to check in with my "supervisor" every morning at the same time, and after a week of "research" training assignments, they sent me a check to cover my home office equipment and my "signing bonus", attributing the need for the complicated process to being a company outside of the U.S. I was supposed to deposit the check, then forward the funds to their "approved vendor". The $5000 check never fully cleared my bank, but I had already forwarded the funds. They then asked me to print and cash a check from an email to buy back up system supplies. I cut off contact after that.
