I joined a company with 300 people that was trying to be different. But as the company grew in geographical reach and 1000 employees, so it became more what it was trying to avoid: an enterprise with mail-boxes for HR and IT queries, an impersonal performance review etc. Hard to avoid, but the aggressive growth targets pushed a lot of the pleasant people aspects aside.
