Paxton Media Group owns about 30 daily newspapers in the Midwest and South, including its flagship The Paducah Sun (Kentucky) and The Herald-Sun (Durham, North Carolina). The company also owns several dozen weekly papers and more than 100 free papers, as well as a television station in Paducah, Kentucky. W.F. Paxton launched The Paducah Sun in 1896; his family, led by CEO David Paxton, continues to run the publishing business.
