I wanted to clarify that in the first round phone call, which you would have had with me, I typically ask everyone for their targeted salary range for a few reasons, but mainly so that I can confirm that we're at least in the same ballpark and won't waste your time moving to future rounds if we can't meet your requirements. We make every effort to stay competitive in this really tricky hiring landscape and know there are a lot of factors that go into someone's decision so we are as transparent as possible up front and wouldn't consider that a negotiation that early in the process. I make it clear at the time that we are not setting anything in stone, but going back to my previous comment, don't waste each other's time if we're not able to pay what the candidate is looking for.
