VIE within Human Factors and Ergonomics Specialist (d/f/m)

Definition VIE

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Human Factors activities aiming to set design requirements for human-centered design.

  • Developing a requirement matrix for use of illustrations in manuals. Which types of instructions

  • Require illustrations (every line, or only when needed for comprehension)? What are the specs needed for better human comprehension and in which context?

  • What kind of illustrations are needed (2D/3D, static or dynamic)?

  • UX research to gather design recommendations for interface design of software used to view and interact with technical documentation.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • You have completed a Masters studies in the field of Human Factors and Ergonomics or equivalent and are looking to have a first VIE experience.

  • Knowledge of human factors methodology, cognitive sciences/psychology, and/or one of the following scientific disciplines of human factors: ergonomic linguistics, neurosciences, UX research, cognitive ergonomics.

  • A keen interest in human-centered design and reducing the probability of human error.

  • Skills in building experimental protocols and analyzing statistical results.

  • Soft skills: rigorous, good communicator, inquisitive, have the ability to analyze and synthesize.
