As a Senior Research Engineer at Cerence, you will have the opportunity to work on developing and optimizing cutting-edge deep neural network (DNN)-based speech enhancement solutions for automotive applications. You will work closely with our research and development team to analyze and evaluate new technologies and competitor solutions, while also supporting the transfer of these technologies into our products.

Design and develop cutting-edge, robust deep neural network (DNN)-based speech enhancement solutions for automotive applications that deliver exceptional performance and user experience.
Optimize DNN configurations to achieve optimal performance with minimal latency, memory usage, and CPU requirements, ensuring that our solutions are efficient and effective.
Collaborate with our R&D team to transfer new technologies into our products, leveraging the latest advances in AI and machine learning to maintain a competitive edge.
Work closely with our sales team to prepare impressive product demonstrators and participate in customer presentations, showcasing the power and versatility of our solutions and delivering an unparalleled level of service and support.
Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the industry and analyze and evaluate new technologies and competitor solutions to inform our product roadmap and maintain our position as a leader in speech enhancement.
Supervise and mentor interns and master's students, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence and developing the next generation of speech enhancement experts.
Protect our proprietary know-how by creating patent applications, promoting innovation within the company, and securing our position as a leader in the field of voice and AI technology
Who you are:
Possess a master's degree or PhD in electrical engineering or a related field, with a strong academic background in speech and audio processing that enables you to apply the latest research to real-world problems.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of neural networks and machine learning, with a strong background in their application to speech and audio processing tasks.
Possess strong programming skills in C, Python, and Matlab, enabling you to develop and optimize algorithms and models to solve complex speech enhancement problems efficiently and effectively.
Communicate fluently in both English and German, facilitating collaboration with colleagues, partners, and customers around the world.
Continuously develop your skills and stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in speech enhancement and related fields, maintaining a cutting-edge expertise that enables you to lead and contribute to innovative projects and initiatives
An understanding of information and application cybersecurity standards (secure coding, securing SDLCs, etc.)
