Construction Estimator

Class A General Contractor in Northern Virginia is seeking qualified full-time Senior Estimator due to expansion. Immediate openings exist. We want team players who are highly motivated, with a positive attitude and attention to detail. The company is a tight-nit team with great cooperation between all employees. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in insurance restoration estimating and residential construction. Candidates must have a professional appearance and demeanor, and be able to pass a background check. Excellent verbal, written, and personal communication skills are mandatory.

Job Description

• Prepares highly detailed estimates for customers and insurance companies.
• Works with the project management team to ensure a positive experience for our customers.
• Reviews estimates and job scopes with insurance representatives and customers. Finalizes approvals and necessary paperwork to begin the project.
• Ensures adherence to proper procedures regarding contracts, payment arrangements, change orders, and closing paperwork.

Skills and/or Knowledge Requirements

• Proficiency with Xactimate estimating software is required. DASH knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of design techniques, construction materials, construction principles, and tools of the trade.
• Organization, multi-tasking, and attention to detail in order to monitor materials, labor costs, and deadlines are required.
• Ability to make independent decisions and guide and direct co-workers and trade workers.
• Ability to handle multiple bids at one time.
• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
• Must be highly communicative with both internal and external communication
