The position

As a firmware developer you will play a vital role in shaping the functionality and performance of electronic devices. Your experience lies in crafting, coding, rigorously testing, and consistently maintaining the firmware that breathes life into hardware components like microcontrollers, microprocessors, and various embedded systems.

Main responsibilities

• Code and Program: Write software in languages like C, C++, or assembly to control hardware.
• Interact with Hardware: Interface with sensors, motors, displays, and communication interfaces for effective communication.
• Test and Debug: Identify and fix software issues to ensure reliability.
• Optimize: Make code faster, use less memory, and consume less power, vital for resource-constrained devices.
• Document: Maintain comprehensive documentation for collaboration and future updates.
• Version Control: Use tools like Git for code management and teamwork.
• Security: Implement encryption, authentication, and secure boot for device security.
• Compliance: Adhere to industry-specific standards and regulations.
• Update and Maintain: Create update mechanisms and ensure backward compatibility.
• Collaborate: Work closely with hardware and software teams to develop complete products.

Qualifications and requirements

• Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is essential.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Skills: Knowledge in microcontroller programming / embedded software (C), Knowledge of FPGA programming (VHDL).
• Ideal Expertise: Basics in power electronics, Control engineering basics.
• Experience: with Matlab/Simulink, Mathcad desirable.
• Flexibility: Must be willing to travel to our plant in Belecke, Warstein at least 1 day per week.
