I had applied online. The recruiting coordinator had scheduled a ZOOM interview with the hiring manager. I was sent a ZOOM link with a confirmed date and time. The interview was CANCELLED just an hour before the call. I got no explanation whatsoever. Follow-up emails also went unanswered. Of course, ghosting a candidate --- even after scheduling an interview --- looks terrible on Syniverse, but what's more troubling is that no one even had the basic professional courtesy to respond to my inquiries. We candidates take the time out of our busy day to make time to interview.... and when the interview cancels at the last minute without any explanation, it looks downright unprofessional and inappropriate. Also, just yesterday, it was reported all over news that Syniverse's much hyped $2.85B merger with M3-Brigade was called off at the last minute. Syniverse's IPO is a no go and the acquisition has collapsed. Perhaps investors found something unsettling about Syniverse that made them back away from allowing the deal to go through. Based on how Syniverse treats candidates and given how the investors stopped the $2.85B merger with Syniverse, it is pretty safe to suggest that there is something inherently toxic about Syniverse's culture. I am glad I am not joining this company and others should be leery as well. I hope me sharing my experience on Glassdoor might help others considering Syniverse as a potential employer.

This interview review with Syniverse is for the Director of Corporate Development role that pretains to a practice called "ghosting". Basically, ghosting is when an employer (or recruiter) stops all communication with a candidate -- and this is downright unprofessional and discourteous. This is how the process went for me: 1. I had applied for this role online. 2. The executive recruiter had e-mailed me indicating that they were very much impressed with my profie and then wanted me to provide my availability for interviews. 3. I had responded accordingly. 4. The recruiter never responded back despite repeated inquiries. The talent acquisition team at Syniverse is outsourced to a third-party agency in Costa Rica. The recruiter did not even type my name in the e-mail which suggests that it may have been a mass e-mail to multiple candidates. Either way, ghosting looks terrible on an employer. If this is how they treat candidates, one can only imagine what a toxic work culture they must have within employees.

Interview was for an hour, a videos session with three panel members. Was smooth and easy. All questions were purely based on the role you applied for. Since I had the related experience I found it easy to clear the interview.

Phone interview with business unit which included team members i would work with, members of the management team i would report to and HR. Having got through this part of the interview process I was then interviewed by HR, which although positive resulted in a radio silence for a few months. It then transpired the company was going through a massive restructure and the role I was applying for no longer existed. It was disappointing after investing a considerable amount of time researching the role and preparing to finally receive an automated reply that the role no longer existed.
