Ich habe mich online beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 2 Wochen. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Juli 2023 bei SpeakWrite (Oklahoma City, OK)
Application is completely online. No one speaks to you. However, you have to take a typing test and must pass the required minimum speed. Once your application is approved, you will be contacted via email with the next steps to do. You need to do 10 transcription tasks. Deadline is in 30 days from date started. However, you can complete it within a few days if you have none to do and by the next week if you pass them all, you can start. You work best with a foot pedal although it is not compulsory. The best thing is, they tell you what your mistakes are and they let you correct them, for up to two rounds of corrections only.
- Do you live in the U.S.?
- How many years of transcription experience do you have?

I filled out some information on their site and received further information by email. I had to download their software and follow instructions to go through their training. After you watch a bunch of videos and take quizzes on the material, you can do the typed exercises. You are referred to their online help system to answer any questions. Their style guide is way too confusing and hard to find the information you need, even using the search function. It is also contradictory in places, which is very annoying. Their software is archaic and apparently can randomly change your document when you save it, and you'll be blamed for the mistakes. I know because I saved copies of what I had submitted and when I was sent what needed to be corrected, there were some differences between what I had saved and what they sent back to me. Very odd. After making the changes and resubmitting everything, I was told they couldn't offer me a position but no explanation of why at all. It would have been more helpful to see what was supposedly wrong. I've seen here that you are supposed to have three opportunities to review things and resubmit but I guess that's inaccurate. I'm really confused because I definitely corrected all of the items they said were wrong, even the ones that were not mistakes that I made. The whole process was an exercise in frustration because of their clunky software, contradictory style guide, and vague instructions. I am actually relieved that I was not hired because if their application process is this ridiculous, I'm almost certain that working for them must even worse.
- I was never actually interviewed at all, only did the online training and exercises.

The typing test is horrible and you do so much just to be told that your payment isn't going to be enough. Would not recommend working here. If you enjoy having a little money off to the side then by all means you can work here, but if you're looking for income that will pay all of your bills, I doubt this is the place for you.
- It was just a typing test

Applied online. Took the typing test. You are give something like 99 times to be able to type 60 wpm. Then given 10 test jobs. Learning something virtually can be difficult. It was for me. When you ask for help you are referred to the policy manual. The manual can be confusing and ambiguous. You are told to follow the dictation but also instructed to follow the manual. Extremely time consuming. I was looking for something less stressful than what I had been doing in a real job. This didn't qualify. I did not pass the test. My advice would be to look for another company. There are many out there. Find one that suits you. That is my intention.

There wasn't very much to it. I applied online to submit an application. Once I got a response from them I was asked to download their software, sign a nondisclosure agreement, agree to a background check, and move forward with the interview. After finishing all the documents, there were 10 training modules that have to be completed (and passed) before you will be permitted to work for them. They are painfully specific without a whole lot of explanation, and you only get three changes, so make them count!
- Training module 10 was probably the most frustrating one for me.

Ich habe mich online beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 1 Woche. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im März 2017 bei SpeakWrite (Austin, TX)
Applied online based on job posting. Received an email with directions on completing skill assessment followed by phone interview describing job and asking about prior experience and type of computer I own. Asked if I would be willing to buy a foot pedal. Note: Interviewer stated average wage is $12.00 per hour, which is a gross exaggeration. Average is more in the range of $5.00-6.00 per hour.
- Asked about prior experience and type of computer equipment.

Ich habe mich online beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 2 Wochen. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Sept. 2016 bei SpeakWrite (New York, NY)
Filled out an online application. Took a typing speed test. Waited patiently (a couple days if I remember correctly)...and upon approval of my application, I was asked to complete a series of 10 test jobs. These are actual test jobs, they are not getting you to type current work for free - they are old jobs they use just to get an idea of your skill/ability.
- They wanted to know about my previous experience.

Ich habe mich online beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 5 Tage. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im März 2016 bei SpeakWrite (Chandler, AZ)
Totally online - simple process of typing test - complete a work history - successfully complete 10 training jobs. A background investigation is completed - but you are working while you wait.
- They test for typing proficiency, you complete a work history, then they give you 10 training jobs of various sorts. You are given 3 chances to complete, submit, and correct the jobs. If done to their satisfaction (basically done according to their manual) you are offered a job contingent on passing a background test - which in my case took about 2 months - I was allowed to work while waiting.

Simple, straightforward process. Fill out paperwork, review procedures manual, go through test jobs, Most difficult part is unlearning everything you may have been taught before and following the manual on how all jobs are to be done

There was no interview. There was a series of training and test jobs. After you successfully complete those, you are offered a contract. I've never had voice to voice or face to face contact with anyone with the company. Everything is done through email or their system. Very little contact, which is nice for an introvert like me.
- Can you type 60 WPM with 90% accuracy?
