Walking through the long dark hallway to a makeshift office was off putting. The office setting was not professional as the front desk employees seemed to be wrapped up in their own world. After interviewing for this company, it was clear of how this company worked. It has to be a pyramid scheme as the hiring manager drew out the plan and explained it as such. I hope my instincts were wrong, but this company did not seem professional.

Ich habe mich online beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 1 Tag. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im August 2016 bei Zengo & Co (Chicago, IL (Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika)).

    Vorstellungsgespräch

I submitted my resume to a listing for a company called "[The White Label Firm] hoping it wasn't another one of these direct sales companies who try to snare recent grads by using the keywords "marketing" "advertising" and "PR." I had experiences interviewing for similar companies out in the western suburbs a few months ago and that proved to be a giant waste of time and gas. Around the same time I submitted my resume on LinkedIn for the jobs in the western 'burbs, I received an email from Zengo & Co. without having even applied. I asked them when I had emailed them previously, but received no response. That brings me to a couple days ago, when I applied for the position I mentioned initially. Upon googling the address, I discovered that this [The White Label Firm] had the same address as Zengo & Co., down the suite number. I've read a few articles and reviews that state this company changes its name or has multiple names, so I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise. That being said, I did not want to deceive people on the south side of Chicago into buying cheap cell phones, so I deleted the email and did not go to the interview. Apparently the interview had to happen within the following two days and would be conducted "in-person immediately," as if that were even possible.
They need to simply call it direct sales instead of roping future dopes like me in under the guise of advertising and PR. In this case, PR must not stand for "public relations," but rather "putrid racket."

They are not open about what it is that you are actually going to be doing. The second round of interview is the worst because you are literally sent in the field to knock on people's doors to solicit products.Of course you will not know this until you get there because they won't tell you.

Prior to this interview I reviewed the job and reviews of the interview process just so I was fully informed. i read multiple reviews of the jobs saying that they lie about the job description and put you in a job that is not relevant at all to what you thought and the interview uses vague language to describe your duties.

When I say do not waste your time DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. like many others said when you go in there is extremely loud rap music that you can hear down the hall and music videos playing when you come in, not that the is a bad thing but it sets the mood for the work environment. When you come in they have flyers for all the "companies" in that office and that you can not apply to all of the "companies" in that office at one time.

When I finally got into the interview. I did not waste time getting down to business. He of course tried using vague words to describe what you will be doing and how you start at the bottom and can move up to the top. also comes to find out the other companies in the office are all owned by the same person but he used other names and CEOs to run them due to government regulations. When i point blank said what I was looking for and how I was not interested in playing any more word game we quickly wrapped up the interview, and he let me know I would be called if he was interested and that I would start by shadowing other employees in the "field" selling products i.e. cellphones.

Overall I didn't receive a call back which is good because I didn't want it anyway. I would say if you are looking for quick commission paid money go ahead and go for the interview. If you are looking for something at your level with professionalism then do not waste your time. You are being asked to do a job any kid with a work permit could do. they ask for people with degrees because they know that they are good workers straight out of school but this job is not for college graduates with degrees or for that matter anybody that isn't just desperately looking for a job.

The first interview was about 15 minutes. The second was to explain the business and the roles of each position. It would have been helpful to let me know on the first interview that this was a commission based position.

Very simple but incredibly shady. You show up and they offered me a second interview instantly which gave me a sense that they would hire pretty much anyone because it wasn't much of a job. On the second interview you shadow someone on the job. "direct marketing" which basically means standing outside somewhere going up to people and trying to convince them to buy your product, in our case phones.

I filled out the application thinking it was a legit company they emailed me back in two days (which was strang). When I got to the office they were playing loud music in the waiting area, there were about 15 other people interviewing as well, and the receptionist were very unprofessional.

I waited for about 30 minutes before I was called in. The interviewer who was also very unprofessional. He rushed the interview and USED PROFANITY at least twice during the process.
Overall, I didn't get a positive vibe from the company and the people it all just seemed a bit unprofessional.

At first I thought I was going to have another interview with the CEO, instead I was introduced to their top corporate trainer. I shadowed the corporate trainer for the day. The first part of the day he showed me how they marketed and promoted for the client. Next, he showed me the business structure, pay compensation, as well as the promotion criteria. At the closing of our day I sat down with the CEO.

First you will have one-to-one interview with the manager. If you go through this interview successfully, then you will ask to go with other co-workers to watch and learn how to pitch on the street. At the end of the day, you will return to the office and they will decide you may go or stay depending on your performance on the street and co-workers evaluations.

Communication was made easy and open by Neil. He was very open and honest to me about the position and about the opportunity that exist for growth in the company. Questions where general interviewing questions, but what I liked better was that they wanted to learn how ambitious are you to move up in the company. After interviews the hiring process was easy and Joane helped me with all the questions I had.
