I answered by stating that I understood how important customer service was to the role and that I was warm, friendly and approachable, which is important in customer service so that customers feel comfortable in approaching me for help. I also stated that I would ensure that customers would have a quick checkout experience, not only so that they could get on with what they needed to do, but also to prevent a long queue forming. I said that I would ensure that aisles were kept clean and tidy, especially when stocking shelves, where packaging strewn about the place could prevent customers from acessing products and could cause a saftey hazard. This part was basically just lifting stuff straight from the job description. Furthermore, I said that I was reliable and dependable and that once I had committed to a shift, I wouldn't turn around the next day and say that I couldn't do it. I could have also added that I responded positively to constructive criticism.
