Vorstellungsgespräche bei The ALS Group

Ich habe mich auf anderem Weg beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 4 Wochen. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Jul 2019 bei The ALS Group (Edison, NJ)
Extremely lengthy process, did almost 4-5 rounds including a personality assement, and then after a month of leading the candidate on, rejected the candidate on the basis of a something that the candidate had made aware in the very first call. Very bad experience.

I interviewed there, hiring manager came late into the interview and didn't apologize. The office looks old and depressing. I found other staffing and recruiting companies around their office so I asked one of the recruiters on what she knows about the ALS. She told me more than 1 negative story about them confirming all glass door comments so I declined offer.

It wasn’t terrible. Everyone was nice, but I got a bad feeling about the company while I was there. Most people that worked there did not seem like they had been there fo a very long time. There was a high turn-over rate so I did not accept the position when it was offered.
- What can you bring to the company as far as skills?

The ALS Group came to our campus for a campus recruiting. I got an email within a month after the recruiting event. They asked about previous work experience and the days available to work.
- Previous Internship experience.

Ich habe mich auf anderem Weg beworben. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Nov 2016 bei The ALS Group (Camden, NJ)
After a great phone interview,(in which the owner sought me out), I was asked to come to Corporate offices (NJ). I assumed I would be reimbursed for expenses. That was not the case. The interview started very late with little apology. The questions asked were posed in such a way that any outcome had a very judgmental negative effect. And then I was asked to take a 'personality' test and sign an NDA. The point of signing an NDA is that the interviewee is allowed to ask pertinent questions that would allow you to understand solvency and longevity in the field. After signing, I was not given the opportunity to ask questions. And finally....the personality test.....what a crock! I was not allowed to have a copy of the results even though it was my information and I was not given a courtesy call to say, I wasn't a good fit, or they found someone else, etc. At the level I was applying for, there are certain considerations and courtesies you are given. And even if you are not at this level it is down right rude. I would imagine working there is stressful and non respectful. Everything works out the way it is supposed to. I interviewed with the owner , who was arrogant and egotistical. Not a good experience. there are too many other companies out there looking for well qualified Risk professionals. Give this one a pass.

Parking is in a parking garage - so give extra time for finding a space and walking about three short city blocks to the reception area; take elevator to office. The office building and the ALS Group office seemed nice, but I only got as far as a few steps into the front door of the business before being taken by a staff member to a very small meeting room off the entrance area. The interviewer said that the person who would take this position would be making travel arrangements, running reports, using MS Office programs like Word and Excel, making PowerPoint slide shows, etc. - typical work related to a financial services industry. She ran through rapid-fire descriptions of the atmosphere of the work environment and the personality of the CEO. It was implied overtime outside normal work hours would be expected, but given the generous salary and bennies, I expected that. I asked a few questions, and it seemed like we were ready to wrap up the interview when I was asked if I had heard of Glassdoor. I had, however, I didn't look up this employer prior to my interview on Glassdoor. She explained that an admin had started an account up without company consent and was fired, and in retribution has left a lot of negative feedback. IMHO any reviews on anything without some negative feedback would be surprising to me. When I returned home, I sent out my typical thank you and conducted further research on this company now that I had some names. Curiosity peaked, I checked Glassdoor's reviews, and I would say this is a situation where it seems like an employee is extremely happy, or extremely unhappy in this business. You can draw your own conclusions by finding some press releases on the company on the web and LinkedIn profiles to help you.
