    The worst phone interview I've ever had. The interviewer didn't even say hi and started questioning me right away. He didn't introduce either himself or a team he was working for. The style of asking questions was not friendly. Once I mentioned I'm a Java SE guy, not Java EE, he clearly lost any interest to me. At the end of the interview I wasn't offered to ask any questions. Instead the interviewer demanded that I sent him a piece of real code I worked for.
    After the interview I didn't receive any yes or no response.
    That was really really poor interview experience. The company clearly has no sort of traditions of conducting interviews and doesn't care about candidates' impressions.
    A pure waste of time.

    Three onsite interviews. Most of questions involve data structures, distributed systems, working experience. Not too tough but need to be well prepared. The interviews make me feel good as they are not brain teaser interviews like other companies i interviewed.

    Ich habe mich auf Empfehlung eines Mitarbeiters beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 2 Wochen. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Oktober 2014 bei Tango.

    Typical first contact on the phone with recruiter and phone interview was set up. The phone interviewer was very nice and accomodating. He asked me to write code to fetch image from url and update imageview. Follow up questions were to discuss potential issues when there are large numbers and to code up a simple fix for issues. The question was pretty involved but a good one as it allowed ample room for discussion.

    Next day was contacted for onsite. This is where things really took a turn. The first guy that interviewed me was probably rudest person I've ever encountered not only at an interview, but anywhere! The second he walked in he acted like I owed him money. He threw out some random question (see below) and proceeded to play with his phone. He seemed annoyed when I asked for clarification, and at one point even left the room to either take a phone call or wander around. When he returned, he continued to play with his phone and offered zero interaction. Even when I tried talking to him, he didn't bother looking up. I managed to muster up some code that, although not the most efficient, likely worked. Without even looking at it, he bashed it and questioned if I knew the order of operation for basic mathematical operators. The whole interview was extremely unpleasant. I was pretty close to walking out except I didn't want to put my referrer in a bad spot. Towards the end it was clear that we were going nowhere since he didn't seem interested in discussing my solution, so I asked him how he would solve it, to which he replied "Why don't you go back and ask your friends."

    Second guy was ok but asked what I consider to be pointless questions. He had me make an app in xcode with a tableview that displayed a list of contacts with names and phone number and dob. Only thing is I had to generate the names (valid names) and phone numbers without being able to look up any information (Basically use random()). Managed to get through most of it, but basically without any knowledge of random number generation, i was screwed.

    Walked out after the third person.

    The food was free but pretty bad, especially having come from several bigger companies that provided free food.

    I have nothing pleasant to say about this company, except for the recruiter, who was very professional. Go figure because he wasn't an employee of this company.

It cost B number of coins to upgrade, after which the number of coins produced is increased by C, and player can upgrade unlimited number of times by paying B coins.     The CEO reached out to me on linkedin and we set up a nontech phone interview, but on the date he couldn't make it so I talked with another guy instead. He was nice and very informative, and that was the only nice experience that I had with this company. Later on we set up on a date for a, ehem, 4 hour skype interview with four engineers. (who does that?) And on the date of the interview, the first gut was FIFTY MINUTES LATE without letting me know that he was running late. I had to wait in front of my computer doing nothing for half an hour before sending the recruiter an email. Of course the first guy apologized, but during our conversation he kept texting and looking at his phone and smiling to his phone, btw we video chatted. I just thought, well, maybe it's just one person, but oh no, that was just for starters.

    My second interviewer was alright, he asked me to write a piece of code for locking using pthread locks, which I struggled a bit with the syntax but finally got it done, and he asked me a couple other questions before handed me to the next person, which was when hell began.

    A little bit background, I am a native Chinese speaker but I received my most recent education in the US. My second interviewer was Chinese and we talked in Chinese after he made sure that we both spoke the language. And I guess the second guy told the third guy that I speak the language and he up front spoke Chinese to me without first giving me a short introduction, I don't even know his name or the position that he holds. Anyway, I was caught off guard a bit because I didn't know who I was interviewing with next. This guy, let me tell ya, was ill-meritedly arrogant and rude. He didn't go to school in the US so he was not very familiar with some of the name of the terminologies. At one point I was trying to explain one of the bug I found in the code I just wrote and he just does not know what SEGFAULT is. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? His tone was very unpleasant, I feel like I was being interrogated by a police officer and I had just murdered someone. He almost made me cry, LITERALLY, and I am a GUY!

    • The third guy asked me some weird question about finding error bit in a large file with an original copy but the two copies are in two different machines. The file is too large to fit into memory. He asked me to find a way to do it fast.   1 Antwort

    The HR manager contact me through Dice. Then scheduled a skype interview. Just asked about past projects. After a month later, they ask me whether I would like to have a group interview that lasts for 2 hours. Then we scheduled a time. But no one contact me on the day of the interview. I waited for half an hour in front of computer and sent an email to hr. hr said they have a group meeting. Then we rescheduled another time. This time still no one showed up on the interview. I asked hr again and hr said they had a meeting again. We have to reschedule another time. Does any company do things like that? Unbelievable. Third time, finally someone contact me. But this guy is very perfunctory and it's not a group interview. He just said a few words and throw me a coding problem he meet during his project. The whole process is really unpleasant. I have nothing to say about this company...

    Initial 1.5 hr Skype phone screen. The CTO reached out to me a month ago saying that the company needs a new grad. I replied immediately and then he never talked to me again... until recently someone else reached out very recently and scheduled an interview. It's such a long time in between, I've actually forgotten about my interaction with the CTO.

    For me the interview is hard... I just graduated with a BS degree and most of the questions are focused on their own field.
    I rate this experience positive because and ONLY because of the interviewer. At the end of the interview he told me straight ahead that my skills do not align with their needs but he would refer me to his friend who wants a new grad. He told me a lot about preparing for java interviews and then we just chatted for another 10-15 min about the programming classes at school... Because of all the other reviews on Glassdoor, I wasn't expecting such a nice guy

    It is the most awful interview experience I have ever had in my life. The first two interviewers were OK; however, the third interviewer was really condescending. He asked me a question on concurrency and I did not do well in this particular question. He ended the conversation by telling me I am worse than their hires and asked me questions like "What is the value of your 7-yr education?" After that, he tried to put me on QA track and ask for extra work during the weekends.

    I am happy not to get their offer because I myself do not find a good match in their team. My gut feeling told me that I would not become a decent and professional programmer with such a team.
