Ich habe mich online beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte eine Woche. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Mai 2020 bei Shutterstock (Denver, CO (Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika)).

    Vorstellungsgespräch

TLDR; interviews were appropriate and recruiter was timely. I was offered the job but they took it away 2 weeks later.

The recruiter contacted me and we had a 10 minute call where he described the position and I expressed my interest in it. (All interviews were held virtually) Next was an hour long interview with one SDET where I answered some easy technical questions and did a short coding exercise. I did not finish the exercise, but he stated that I did well and my thoughts and process were what interested him. The final interview was a 3.5 hour block of 30 to 60 minute interviews. During these interviews I answered questions about my QA process, development process, technologies used, past work experience, and general HR (how would you handle A, B, C) situations. There were 2 coding exercises during this block. (It was explained that they usually do more but have recently scaled back to assure the one coding exercise that is mandatory is done well). The recruiter was very timely in his responses and I was offered the position in less than 1 day after the final interview. Then I was kept on hold for almost 2 weeks. I was told he would have my official offer letter ready "today" several times. Then out of the blue I was told that the position was moved to Ireland and they were no longer hiring in Denver. There was nothing for me to do.

    • Signed an NDA. Overall, 3 short coding questions in JS. Nothing too difficult. The large block of interviews was split up to ask questions about every aspect of the job: QA. development, resume, people skills.   Frage beantworten

The interviewer or hiring manager didn’t know what questions to ask, I don’t understand why interviewers aren’t better prepared. I unsubscribed and stopped using shutter stock’s services after this.

I’m not saying the interviewer should memorize each candidate’s profile but her questions didn’t make sense for an interview.

Had a call with a recruiter. He said that I would be moving on in the interview process. I emailed him after 2 weeks of not hearing anything. Then finally after about a month not returning my emails, I find out that they went in another direction.

Typical Software Engineering interview. Talk to the recruiter, then coding phone screen, finally onsite. Basically long story short there are levels to the coding questions they ask you, you will be assessed on how well you can do the problem from easy to hard. you will get docked points for not understanding the problem completely, using inefficient algorithms, etc. Basically your goal is to make it to the end of the interview process with the least amount of red flags as possible. The best thing to do is to look at this as a learning experience and keep getting better at doing technical interviews regardless of outcome.

    • Due to NDA I can't disclose this but they use hacker rank as their coding interview platform. I did a mix between 60 leetcode easy, medium and hard question to get ready.   Frage beantworten

    Vorstellungsgespräch

I had a an initial 30 minute phone screen with HR and moved on to an hour video interview with a hiring manager in Canada. A couple weeks later I moved on to the in-person interviews and presentation. I had to give a 30 minute presentation on a product I designed. It was required to create a presentation rather than just presenting a project from your portfolio.

The presentation was supposed to have 6 participants watching and when I got to the room to present my case study only 2 people were there and 2 people called in via video. I presented the study and then had about 5 individual interviews which were 30 minutes each. The names did not match who I was supposed to meet with from my interview schedule email. As I went on with the interviews I finally met the VP of UX who told me I was interviewing for another position and that the position I had applied to was filled. I learned that the position required experience that I didn't have. They could have mentioned this to me prior to coming into the office and wasting 3 hours of my day. It was a waste of my time and their own company time. The process was very disorganized.

I read the bad reviews on Glassdoor prior to going into the interview and I really should have canceled the interview. Trust the reviews and red flags!

Interviewer came late and with bad energy. Didn't make eye contact with me & seemed standoffish. Only asked me about my first internship, and downplayed it. As a recent college graduate I may not have the most impressive work experience but to later make passive comments about my answers? One of the most unprofessional things I've encountered. Can't believe she is in charge of hiring potential employees. Hope she gets through whatever it is shes going through.

Four interviews via Google Hangouts with various team members and an on-site interview. After excitement from the VP, I was told that they'd be in touch and then never heard another word from anyone on the team. Nothing from recruiting, nothing from the management team. Was just ghosted despite my follow-up attempts.
