I was called in to a "women in recruitment" meeting and found it amazing. The way they are trying to expand their diversity and equality was great. After signing up for an interview I was called in to their office for a formal interview. The person who interviewed me was very professional and friendly at the same time. They had no problem repeating questions that I didn't quite get straight away.

    Phone interview and then a face to face interview. I had to work my way through some scenarios in the phone call, as a part of the interview. In the face to face interview they just had your basic interview questions. I would advise googling them and perfecting your answers beforehand.

    Manager was rude. Felt like it was an interrogation. I thought it was a joke. I would never recommend anyone to approach this company. They acted like the company was at the top of the recruitment food chain. Happily accepted a role at a superior firm. Thanks for helping me make the right decision.

    It started with a phone call interview. 2 days later, I went for a group interview (15people). They gave a presentation on SThree, and had a director to talk to us, after which we had to introduce ourselves to the whole group, and final part a team presentation to sell a product to investors. Next round, 1 to 1 interview with 3 different managers. Final round, work sample interview which comprise of 10mins powerpoint presentation and also sales floor calls.

    Applied directly through the website, contacted by internal recruiter the following day. Following an initial telephone discussion, was told to research the different brands in preparation for a more telephone interview.

    Invited to the offices, interviewed with three brands in one day. Standard interview process initially, typical interview with competency based questions, informal, trying to get to know you. If positive feedback, you are called back for a second stage, which involves a presentation to the brands who decided to call you back.

    You are given first hand experience on the shop floor and make some calls to candidates to get a feel of the job. You then have to interview with a senior partner who decides whether you are suitable for the tole.

    The WORST interview I have ever had. The HR lady who did the initial phone screening was very nice. But the face-to-face interview with a senior recruitment consultant was horrible, horrible. He was basically the rudest interview I have ever seen. First question asked was whether I had any sales experience, and when I said no but explained why I am interested in the role, he immediately put on a disinterested look and closed my resume file and finished the interview. The whole interview took less than 8 minutes. Ridiculous.

The internal recruiter is very friendly however the hiring manager seems to be very intimidating because of her strong personality. I asked her some questions about working with the company but she did not answer me instead the hiring manager focused more about my qualifications

    I had a telephone interview with an internal recruiter who asked me quite a lot of questions on them and because I did my research I was successful and went to second stage where I met the team manager for the Huxley engineering team. The manager was very egotistical from the word go and was naming some of the things she owned before even starting the interview. Products aren't what motivate me so I thought it was very odd! She basically grilled me for an hour and asking about me if I had a partner and if they moved away what would I do stay or go with them which I deemed extremely inappropriate. I really needed a job at the time and was really interested in recruitment. I took the role and shortly left after realising what I seen in my interview day just got worse and because I didn't have a lot of money or prada clothes it made me a lesser person than them. If you get an offer I would strongly suggest not taking it, there are plenty of good recruitment consultancies in Bristol that have a much better working environment with the benefits of the lunch clubs, commissions and nights out too.

Since your interview 2 years ago, we’ve put all of our hiring managers through competency-based interview training, which we now use as standard across our business. This enables us to select the right people for the job, while ensuring the experience is a positive one for all candidates. We’ve also worked hard to develop a great working environment in Bristol, including moving to a new office, promoting the use of flexi-time and offering a more diverse range of incentives and team-based activities.

    I sent my CV to an email and was phoned back the next day to have a quick chat with an internal recruiter about my application, my motivations, general chit chat. This was followed up a few days later by a longer telephone interview that lasted over an hour with the same internal recruiter, where I was grilled quite heavily about the company, the brands, why I wanted to work in recruitment, my future career plans, and some competency-based questions. I passed this stage and was invited to a face-to-face interview in the Bristol office, I was told I would be interviewed by two managers, possibly more, and be asked to give a presentation. I was sent a lot of materials for preparation and the internal recruiter seemed genuinely interested in getting me the job. She called me both the day before and about half an hour before the interview to help prepare me for it.

    I arrived early for the face-to-face interview, but only one manager was available to interview me, not two as stated over the phone. Unlike the internal recruiter, I found the manager quite arrogant, abrasive, and standoffish. It was clear that he hadn't looked at my CV before the interview and had gone in completely blind, as he was following notes from a sheet of paper. He misinterpreted several key points and ignored several others. At one point he made a rude and unprofessional backhanded compliment that I'm not a "natural salesperson", despite my records as a top salesperson for a FTSE 250 company. At which point I decided that I wouldn't take the job or next round of the interview if I was offered it.
