The recruiter reached out via phone call to talk about the position. Then she wanted me to conduct video interviews with the hiring manager and teammates in 24 hours - making me think the position needed to be filled asap. After my video interviews, the recruiter said she'd let me know a couple days later. She never got back to me since then. Like past reviews have said, the recruiters at this company are horrendous. They ghost you right after and never respond back.

    Vorstellungsgespräch

Typical interview process. A round with the recruiter. A round with hiring manager, her counterpart and two team members. All went great and was told I’d be a great fit. 4 rounds of interviews then ghosted. I followed up every two weeks. The recruiter was responsive but evasive. I followed up three weeks after the initial two weeks. Found out there was another role open very similar to what I had interviewed for but at a higher level. I applied and let the Recruiter know. I told her I thought this looked exactly like the same job but with direct reports and I was a manager before. She emailed me back two days later just saying thanks have a nice weekend. This is about the fourth or fifth time Poly has done this to me in the interview process— they put me through interviews and string me along and then ghost me.
    Zero consideration for the candidate.

Initial phone screen with HR, then a first round videocall with the hiring manager. One of those bizarre experiences where HR green lighted me, the hiring manager concluded our conversation with feedback that he liked me very much and thought I was an initial fit for the role in terms of personality and tech background... only to get ghosted. So rude, disorganized, unprofessional- to do to someone that you've spoken to at all, but even more egregious after 2 rounds. This kind of behavior is actually pretty rare in these times changed by COVID, so I'd suggest looking elsewhere for somewhere that has a clue as to respectful use of a candidate's time.

    Vorstellungsgespräch

I applied through LinkedIn and the entire process has been about a month and a half.

The beginning of the process was great, a recruiter reached out to me and did the typical phone screen interview, asking questions as to why are you looking for a career change and what led to applying at Poly. Once that was over the recruiter was quick to reach out to managers at the Westminster location and I was scheduled for a Skype interview with three of them in the next week.

The Skype interview with the three managers was an hour long and they asked the questions of why I was wanting to leave my current place of employment and asked if I would also be interested in interviewing for a Test Engineer position, given my background. They also asked some minor technical questions related to my education and once they were done I was allowed to ask my typical questions. If all was well, the managers would let the recruiter know and I would move on to scheduling an onsite interview.

Good news, I made it to the onsite interview but this is where things go down the drain. The recruiter asked which day or days would work best for me and I told her, emphasizing that there is a specific day of the week that works best and that all others would not. She relayed this information over to the coordinator and I waited. A couple of days go by and the coordinator finally reaches out saying that my interviews have been scheduled and will need to be confirmed by both the interview team and me.

I see that one of the days does not work for me and reach out to the coordinator asking if it is possible to move that to the same day as the other and do a full day of interviewing. The coordinator responds within a couple of hours and say sorry it is not possible as most of the team will be out on Friday and thus Thursday works best for them and asks if that works for me.

10 MINUTES LATER I get another email from the recruiter saying both interviews have been confirmed on both ends of the party, even though I did not confirm the interview scheduled on Thursday.

On the day of the interviews, Thursday I could not make it due to current work obligations but I was ready for the interview of Friday. Friday comes around and I wake up and take the drive out to the office and make it on time to check in with the security guard. Instructions aren't clear as they say to come to the office and check in with the security guard but they don't tell you which building and there are no signs at the location telling you where the main entrance is.

I check in and now I'm waiting. 10 minutes. . .20 minutes. . .45 minutes. . .no one has shown up to come get me for the interview. I get a personal call as I'm waiting and I step outside and while I'm out there for the person who I was supposed to meet walks across the courtyard to the security guard's desk and then come back out and points at me, wanting me to wrap up my phone conversation. I cannot do that and he walks back to his office.

It was after my phone call that the recruiter reached out to me and apologized profusely that the time I was sent for the interview was the wrong time and that the interview was actually scheduled later than when I showed. How much later? 90 minutes later than when I showed up and this was the first time I was being notified.

I did not go through with the onsite interview process as I had already waited the time difference just to hear from someone telling me the interview time had moved. I initially had a feeling about Poly after the initial recruiter contact and my gut feeling was right.

They have tried to reschedule with me and actually fit to my schedule but they've already wasted my time once and I don't want to just go and waste my time a second time around.

HR call was easy and around 30 mins. Hiring manager call was about 45 mins. Positive interview, matched my resume and skills. Next steps was I'd hear back from HR.

Got ghosted by HR recruiter. Checked in via email and still no response. Unprofessional compared to other tech companies

Received call from recruiter. Talked for half an hour. Recruiter mentioned they were having a hard time filling this position.

I was set up for 1 hours video conference interview. Was not the hiring manager but a team member. He jumped into a litany of questions from the getgo. I tried to ask questions and learn more about the role/team in between but that was not well received.

Finally with 4 minutes left he asked me if I had questions. Really?

Anyway legacy stack/tools, nothing really modern by choice. That coupled with the hour long aptitude test I can see why they were having such a hard time filling.

Predicted they would ghost and they did.

    Meh.

First call was with a member of the team I was interviewing for, as the hiring manager got stuck in a meeting. I had to take some online assessments before the first call. Follow-up call was with the hiring manager and two other members of the team.
