    Applied online and was screened with a phone interview from their talent acquisition specialist team. Then, I was invited on-site to their Seattle office for a formal interview.

    Interview lasted a total of four hours with four different teams - lasting an hour each. I was asked a series of behavioral and technical questions based on my professional work history.

    The teams handling the behavioral questions centered on team impact, situational awareness, and professional workplace ethics. Make sure to read and review the company's mission statement and incorporate that into your STAR examples.

    During the technical interview, I was given an IDE and I had to debug and troubleshoot a broken React UI component that called data on-screen from a back-end.

    Initial phone screen from recruiter; followed by an in depth phone interview with the person acting temporarily in this role. I feel I did poorly on this interview because they had copied and pasted the job description of one manager role (different) into the role I interviewed and prepared for. I repeatedly discussed things in light of current account management, but the job was more focused on net new revenue operations. I was probably a bit too harsh when corrected on this by saying "that is what you listed in the job description". While I also have this (newly learned on the fly) requirement, I can't help but think it jarred the interviewer and was off-putting. I did give feedback to them via a survey and noticed, lo and behold, the CORRECT description was put into place; and the old one removed.

    Hackerrank challenge (3hr): Ample time to solve the question. It had to do with manipulating strings and validating them in a certain way. I did it in JavaScript and it was not too hard, which I was glad about because 3 hrs is a lot of time to devote to a screening round.

    Video interview (45 min): with director and senior engineer. I was asked why I was interested in the position, about my resume, etc. They explained the position, what Payscale does, etc.

    On site interview (5-6hrs): 1 hr interviews 1:1 with engineers of varying levels, project manager, and engineering manager. Each interview is slightly different. They give you plenty of time to ask questions about the role and company. The interviewers were all pleasant and engaged.

    I liked Payscale, their office was modern and industrial, the people were great, but I got a more competitive offer and decided to go with that one.

    30 min phone interview (getting to know you), 5 min phone interview (answering a few research questions), on site interview (analytical/situational questions, roughly 3.5 hours). Review and Communication post interview didn't match the timely manner and professionalism of the previous few weeks, (blown off post interview calls, late responses to emails, etc). Onsite and Phone interviews were extremely professional and courteous.

    I applied the job on the company website and got contacted by HR after about a week. The HR phone screen was standard. We talked about my background and how I heard about PayScale. After a week I talked with the hiring manager on the phone. He provided detailed information about his expectations for this role which was helpful. Now I am still waiting for the decision of an on site interview. So far I had a good experience with them.

    Awesome process where they actually seem to understand that you need to ask questions related to the role and not just standard algorithm questions from leetcode.

    They took a while to get the process started (but to be fair in the email when you apply it does say it will take a while to get to your resume), but once it did, the recruiter was extremely responsive and everyone was super helpful.

    1st round - phone call with recruiter
    2nd round - phone call with hiring manager
    3rd round - onsite, 4 blocks. Had to do a presentation on a project I worked on

    The 1st & 2nd round are general questions. The 3rd round they actually just had conversations with me instead of interrogating me with behavioral and technical questions. They talked about stuff on my resume and how it would help with the current role. Awesome experience overall.

    The interview process was pretty straight forward. I spoke with the recruiter, phone interview with hiring manager, then met with the hiring manager and interviewed with the team. The questions were pretty typical asking about my background and experiences. Everyone seemed friendly enough but perhaps a bit stressed with some upcoming deadlines coming up. The feedback I received from the recruiter seemed to not correlate with what I was told they wanted.

    The area that was so eye-opening was the lack of diversity for a company their size like it's super white with a handful of Asian folks and absolutely no brown and black people. It makes me contemplate whether their commitment to diversity is really put into action.
