Attended interview recently in Prodyna's London office. The job was advertised as Software Engineer Java with "initial experiences in Java technologies" but in fact, judging by the questions they ask, they are looking for consultant with solid knowledge of DevOps practices. Basically, they need someone able to travel around UK explaining complex software concepts in plain English to non-technical folks.

The very first question was "What makes good consultant?" which tells you straight away what the job is really about. I answered "expertise and confidence" but in the universe of Prodyna's management it is "teamwork"(!?) that makes good consultant. On non-technical side they ask a lot of boilerplate questions like "what is your biggest challenge?", "what is your biggest fail" and so on. These can be easily faked but they believe these questions make sense.

On a technical side they are not interested much in the homework that you need to prepare before the interview. One of the interviewers didn't know anything about it, another one just opened it in an IDE ten minutes before the talk, they don't look at it, they don't try to run it. You will need to explain your solution and answer few questions about it, it didn't take longer than fifteen minutes to talk about the homework. They do not ask question about Java, but be prepared to answer a lot of questions about DevOps, project management, collaboration with team and everything should be explained in plain English as if you speak to non-technical people from outside London.
