Ich habe mich online beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 5 Wochen. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert bei Maclaren (Norwalk, CT (Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika)).

Vorstellungsgespräch

The interview process, at first, was fine. I had interviewed a bit with an associate on the phone, and then he invited me to a face-to-face interview at their office. The vibe I got when I entered the office, to be quite honest, was very eerie (in the sense that, it seemed almost a depressive place). The associate was friendly and explained the job role and we discussed my work background and knowledge. He decided that he wanted me to meet with the owner (who was out of the country at the time) when he returned.

I was not called in to meet the owner until about a month later from the first interview, and to be honest I wish I declined the second interview. The owner, just from body language, seemed rather stiff and moody. This time, three people sat in on the interview - the owner, the previous associate I interviewed with, and another team member (perhaps HR). Essentially it was the owner who asked questions. He did not really introduce himself, and some of the questions he asked I could not see how it was relevant to the position I was applying for. Somewhere along the lines, the questions seemed to turn somewhat political and social media based, which made be a bit uncomfortable and it was hard to answer some of the things he asked. He was very antagonistic and intimidating, and I noticed that he barely looked at me (which I found rude as I tried to maintain eye contact).

Overall, I did not get a very good vibe from the second interview and the owner. I think that before applying or even thinking of working for Maclaren, it is definitely worth it to do your research not just on the company, but on the owner (and the countless lawsuits against him and his ventures) as well. I found later that when I went through the reviews here, I clearly was not the only one who found the owner and the company a bit strange, melancholy, and tactless.
