    The interview was a behavioral interview with 2 stages. The first interview was with the Document Control group only and the second interview included the lead Engineer. The first interview was very formulaic with several pages of questions that needed to be answered. The second interview was more conversational, to see how I would get along with the engineering team.

    I applied for a job online, a week later i got a call asking if i was still interested. Despite saying that the best method was through phone, they had sent an email setting up a phone interview which was directed to my junk folder by my spam detector. Terrible HR Department, I applied for a position out of the Bonnyville Office. I received a call from a " recruitment specialist " . Supposed to be at 9 am ended up getting the call closer to 9:15, after a few minutes of talking she for whatever reason had to put me on hold for close to 5 minutes, completely unprofessional as i had taken time off to complete the interview. During the course of the interview she was stumbling through the obvious written down questions on the sheet in front of her. Mentioned that i was a 3rd year Millwright apprentice when i was in fact a fourth year, it was almost as if she was flying by the seat of her pants still trying to sift through my resume while on the phone, needless to say two hours later i received an email saying they would not proceed with hiring me.

The interview environment was very positive, only consisted of managers of the department, no HR involvement. As this was a contract position through 3rd party employment agency, I got the offer the next day after only one interview.

The interview took about one hour just like most other interviews. No technical questions or anything like that

    There were 3 interviews, phone screening interview with HR rep, panel interview (HR rep, team-lead, 2 Reps) that was held Downtown Calgary main office, and a lunch interview with 2 Reps that came to Airdrie and took me out for lunch. The lunch I felt was unprofessional as neither the team-lead, nor HR rep attended and they were adamant about us all having alcohol beverages, so we could relax our nerves. It felt as if the two young Reps that took me out for lunch were looking for someone to join their click and were not looking for the right person to do the job. They kept referring to the position as "you", not the candidate will be doing this and sitting here etc. They really made it seem like the position was mine. After the lunch, they said that their team-lead would be in touch with me in about 2 weeks. After 3 weeks went by and no one contacted me, I called HR and left a message, she was on holidays and returning on the Monday. I didn't hear back from her on the Monday, so I followed up with another call on Wednesday. The HR rep answered the phone and told me that all jobs were being put on hold and they would know more in October and to watch for an email. Two weeks later in September I got an email saying that they are not going to offer me the position, but continue to apply for other positions. The next day they had re-posted the position. I am still dumbfounded as to why they wasted so much time and money to come to Airdrie and take me for lunch and refer to the position as mine. I wish they would've been more professional and at least given me a reason as to why they didn't proceed with me. Also I think it's a lack of professionalism to send two junior Reps to do a followup interview without a team-lead or HR Rep present.
