Applied online, got an email for a phone interview (consisted of behavioral questions and a casual role play), had another phone interview (behavioral questions based on the 4 core values), was set up for an assessment center via Skype. Waiting to hear back from them about the result. Best preparation I can recommend is to a) do extensive research about Hays and its services b) anticipate the interviewer fighting you back during the assessment center - be prepared to provide alternate solutions or persuasive arguments at every step of the way.

    There were four rounds. First was a mix of role-play and behavioral questions. Second was very short and more behavioral questions. Third was the assessment center. And finally a talk with the director. Overall, everyone was nice and I had a good talk with the manager who led the assessment center. However, the final interview left me puzzled because the director only asked a few questions but then determined they had a good idea of who I was. Then I ended up not getting the job. Their reasoning was because I did not have a sales background. My question is: Why string someone along through four rounds to only decline them for something you would have known just by looking at my resume??????? In the end, waste of time. Don't apply if you have no sales background.

    Phone interview, face to face interview, assessment centre then final interview with a total of 6 directors from 3 different specialisms.

    I will have my interview with these directors soon, hopefully it will go well. The assessment centre is quite relaxed, and is specified to only have around 10 people at most. Furthermore there is no need to "compete" with others. Focus on yourself and doing your best during the roleplays. The company has high turnover and does many assessment days, so there is most certainly a spot for you if you are already at the assessment centre stage. Again, just do your best. My assessment centre consisted of a business development call, writing a job advert after being given a basic job spec and asking questions to the "HR manager" then trying to sell ONE candidate's CV out of three (assuming they have applied for the job) to the HR manager (roleplay)

    The directors are AWARE that this is an intimidating experience, and that the roleplays are very difficult given you probably have no experience, so try and stay composed and get through it. Secure an interview and ask questions - try and make the roleplays as conversational but also productive as possible.

    The process was definitely one of the more challenging processes I went through however, it was very rewarding going from one stage to the next. From this, it made me feel very competent and confident so when it came to the final stage interview I felt as well prepared as I could ever be. Sophie made the process feel natural yet very professional. Could not make any complaints.

    As a candidate diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, the interviewer did not provide adjustments for me.

    During the interview, I was not provided with extra time to answer competency based questions. When I was thinking of the answers to questions, I was rushed by the recruiter. The interviewer also said that I was painful to listen to and did not provide concessions in regards to the role-playing questions, because I cannot use my imagination to roleplay due to my diagnosis

    1. One to one interview
    2. Role playing (you will make a phone call to a potential client to grab his interest, then you will write a job advert and then you will sell the candidate that you choose to the client)
    3. You will be matched with the roles available that best suits you and you will meet the directors of those teams to confirm in which role you are perfect

    First two interviews were easy but third stage is challenging. I'm not sure why there are so many stages as the first 2 are the same e.g general interview questions
