Ich habe mich online beworben. Die Rückmeldung war schnell, ungefähr 10 Tage eine Einladung zu einem persönlich Gespräch. 10 Minuten Selbstpräsentation, dann Fragen über meine Masterarbeit und Erfahrungen über Lasersystem.

after applying for this position I got interview invitation within two weeks. The interview was scheduled over a month later. After the interview they took more than 2 months to tell me the outcome.

I had an interview with 5 persons who everybody was responsible for a special part of a project from hardware design to firmware development to system,... they first introduced themselves and asked me to do so. After a short introduction of myself questions started.

Half-hour skype interview, very informal. Mostly about the project the supervisor had in mind and the requirements it took to fulfil the project requirements. We talked a lot about the theory and physics behind the project and I was introduced to the programming structure needed.

I was interviewed for a position at DESY in 2014. I was invited for an in situ interview and to give a lecture. The atmosphere was very cold because the audience had not the knowledge and background to follow a chemistry lecture. In this regard I did not find very normal to give a 45min lecture, a 20min would have been more appropriate.
After finishing the interview process, the boss asked for 2 letters of recommendation. My referees send the letters in the following days and he never reply to them. This was the first time that someone did not reply to my referees with a simple "thanks". During the interview I was told that the decision would be taken in 2 weeks, and after 2 weeks I contacted the boss 2 times with no feedback. After 5 week I was rejected with no explanation and from an automatic HR's email. DESY and especially this group lacks of professionally.
