    A recruiter contacted me via LinkedIn and we setup a basic call. He maintained a positive attitude and was extremely confident "I would get the job". The recruiter was extremely helpful answering all questions and invited me to a Career Day at their HQ in San Mateo.

    At the Career Day, the first part was a basic educational component about the company, culture, benefits, pay, etc. The second half was an interview with the manager, consisting of a 5 minute mock call to set a demo and basic questions.

    The manager I interviewed had some positive feedback, but he misunderstood my answers. He also seemed a bit hurried and standoffish over the phone.

    Most of the AEs seemed to be there less than 2 years and turnover seemed really high.

    I applied through LinkedIn and the recruiter reached out to me via InMail. We set up a time to talk for an initial screening. In the job description, it states you need a 3.4 GPA in college to be considered. I had about a 3.1, but threw my application in anyways. I was excited they wanted to speak with me, and the cold message from the recruiter did say they were "impressed" by my background/qualifications. After 5 minutes on the phone, they asked me my GPA and I gave them the honest answer. The reply I got was, "bummerrrrr" ... and then I went on my way. So they clearly didn't examine my background if that is a hard cutoff for the company. It's right in my resume and LinkedIn profile I have a 3.1 I understand outreach tactics for recruiters, but it was a waste of time for me. They truly do only take students with 3.4 GPA or higher. I've heard some interesting things about this company since then (being a Silicon Valley startup) such as bad commissions and no path of advancement. I was bummed because it does look like a cool, modern place to work. However, I would look elsewhere if I were you.

    This interview process was very strenuous; multiple steps involved.
    First was a general phone interview with their talent acquisitionist (heaven sent woman) who then set up another phone interview with the manager of the position. He was very, very, very addiment in his time; he would give a countdown reminder during the call ("since there's 4 minutes left..."). During this time, he made sure to really "sell" the company and all the "wonderful" things the company can do for you such as making six figures in a year (.... as long as you work 55 hour weeks and the required overtime). He talked truly 90% of the time and left me with 5 minutes to ask my questions. This was a 30-minute interview and immediately rubbed me wrong that he did not allow for any additional time for me to ask necessary questions. Concluding this interview, he gave feedback of things that I should work on during these interviews. These were negative things, of course, but I see feedback as a critical aspect of the business field, however, receiving this feedback immediately following an interview, especially one that gave me no time, spoke greatly on what could be anticipated if given a job offer.
    Following, I was asked to complete an assessment. It took me two times to complete because you must attain a specific score.
    Lastly, there is an onsite interview.

    Did not get a job offer because my "answers were not concise."

    I was scheduled for an interview immediately, the morning after I had applied online. I gave her my availability and she forgot to mention she was on the East Coast for a work trip. Two hours AFTER our scheduled phone conversation, she canceled, after I followed up with an email. Had the phone interview a week later and asked for another phone convo later in the week, but felt the position was not the right fit.

    I met the recruiter at a career fair. We worked together to get a phone interview where I was told to research the company to get a step ahead. It was half interviewing me and half I interview them. I was told it was a great interview until I received an email that I was being passed for other candidates since it was a strong pool.

    Originally reached out to the recruiter on LinkedIn, never received a response. Went on to reaching out directly to the hiring manager, scheduled a phone call and had an interview. Went extremely well and was referred back to the recruiter who was supposed to send me a personality and analytics test.
    Was told I could not move forward due to not having a bachelor's degree. Disappointing that the recruiters do not look at candidates holistically in what they can bring to the company. Millennials have a financially harder time completing a BA than any other generation. Counting out candidates based on ONE piece of criteria, even if they do possess some sort of higher education (AA or above) and clearly relevant work experience you discount them is discouraging and not truly a start-up mentality. Some of the brightest minds in today's technology sphere do not possess any degrees.

    I applied via LinkedIn, which is smart. I don't know why more companies do the one click apply, but it's a great way to find candidates who are busy with their current position. I went through 3-4 rounds of interviews and an assessment. The whole process was pretty strange after the first interview. The job role was similar to my background so I had no reservations in my abilities to learn and adapt quickly. The culture of the company, however, was another story. Their Chicago office had about 10-12 people in it, in a fairly large office space. The interviewers repeated that this was a "winner" mentality team. What that really seemed to translate to was "we give you training and you compete with everyone." Don't get me wrong, I'm in sales so of course I like competition. However, it was very apparent that collaboration was minimal and others were not willing to help. They had also already formed an opinion of me based on someone who had known me two years ago, who I had barely known through my college classes. If this person embodies their "winner mentality," then I'd have to pass. Looked like a swimming pool full of sharks at a company trying to gain market share in a saturated space. No thanks.
