Ich habe mich auf anderem Weg beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 3 Wochen. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Okt 2017 bei Box (Redwood City, CA)
It was a solid experience, moved along pretty efficiently through each step. Would've been nice to get feedback to help in future interviewing. The overall culture seemed great, big company but startup feel. Top down approach with culture. Product-centric org.
- Some questions about Box products and how to make them better. Metrics that are important, and how you gauge success.

I had a phone screen with HR, then a call with hiring manager, and then followed by a half-day onsite interview with four employees. PM at Box is a balanced rule and they are looking for somebody who can both work with engineering and customer facing.
- Tell me about a feature you designed. How you com out with such a feature? What metrics will you use to track the success of the feature?
- Tell me about your experience of launching a product.

Recruiter reached out through Linkedin and we had a phone screen. This was followed by another phone screen. In a weeks time from the phone screen I had the onsite scheduled. Onsite interviews included Product Managers , Product Director , Business Development director , VP of Engineering and Head of Design . The following day I had a phone call with their Chief Product officer

I had a really nice screening call with the recruiter but things went downhill from there. It took a while to get a call with the hiring manager, which wasn't a big deal, but they were very insistent that I do a video call via Google hangout. I'm not sure who works in a place where they can do this from the office, I certainly can't, so I did a work from home day to accommodate and do it during lunchtime. They also had my phone number, just in case something went wrong with the hangout. The hiring manager never joined the hangout. I emailed the HR person who didn't respond until after the interview was set to be over. She apologized and said that the hiring manager was on the hangout (and for some reason didn't try to call me, but ok) and we rescheduled. Again, I worked from home to accommodate this. The interviewer was a no-show AGAIN. This time I emailed the HR person and she got back to me faster. She said the interviewer was held up on a flight and was available later; when I told her I couldn't do that time because of another call she seemed annoyed with me. At that point, I should have probably just said forget it, but I scheduled another call because I'd heard great things about the company. This time the manager was a no show on the Google hangout for the first almost 10 minutes, so I almost gave up, then he called me. He gave a very brief and not particularly apologetic apology for the previous problems. Our interview time was shortened, which was ok, but the whole time he seemed to think I was another candidate and kept talking about my experience in a sector I hadn't worked in, and seemed just generally distracted and disinterested. Never felt like they valued my candidacy or time. I ended the interview feeling like this had all been a big waste of my time and opportunities to work from home. I wish I'd said no thanks before they sent me a form rejection letter nearly 3 weeks after the interview.
- Describe how you used one of your greatest strengths in your job

Ich habe mich über einen Personalvermittler beworben. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert bei Box (Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika)
They scheduled a bunch of interviews one after the other covering a period of 5 hours. During that period there was no time for a break. Very poorly organized, at least at the time I came see them which was a few months ago. While I answered all the questions they had, they never properly addressed mine.
- Easy.

A very tedious process (2 phone interviews, 2 on-site rounds, presentation) which I enjoyed to an extent and went through happily at the end of which I was offered the position via email. On following-up with the recruiter multiple times in a span of 4 days, I receive yet another email saying that the position has been re-purposed to a different group! What is the point in stringing a candidate along for so many days! On top of that, there was the snafu with calling me onsite from morning till early evening and not offering lunch or even the time to go grab lunch from outside. I was hungry all afternoon! From a public company like Box, I expected better. Big thumbs down!
- Questions on present and past positions

Ich habe mich über einen Personalvermittler beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 4 Wochen. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Sep 2014 bei Box (Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika)
The overall interview process seemed confused at best. A recruiter reached out to me on linkedin, and, after the initial telephone HR screening call, there were several different roles that they thought would fit my profile. After a few weeks of radio silence and a couple of recruiter and job profile changes, they finally connected me to the hiring manager. The interview with the hiring manager was straightforward, mainly questions about previous experience and behavioral questions around team management. The interview seemed rushed, it was almost like he wanted to get the chat over with even before it started, I believe this is the first interview in my career where I was asked if I had any question for the interviewer before delving into my details. We wrapped up the interview within half the budgeted time. A couple of days after the interview, the recruiter reached out saying that my profile was not a direct match for the team's hiring needs. As Box is still a young company, I guess it is understandable that their hiring processes/standards are still not mature enough and they have a ways to go to streamline their recruiting process. Interviewing with them makes once wonder why they even bother to reach out to you if the first place.
- None of the questions were difficult.

1. Phone screen by HR 2. Phone interview with hiring manager That's as far as I got. Both people I spoke with were very nice. The whole process was positive. They were a little slow to respond. I ended up emailing again after submitting my resume, just to be sure I didn't get lost in the crowd.
- How do you measure effectiveness of your user interface? Although it was a PM position, I believe they actually wanted a combination of product manager and user experience / user interface designer. This points to the emphasis on ease-of-use at Box. You need to be passionate about that to work there. In my opinion that is a big plus.
