Bewerbung

Ich habe mich über eine Vermittlungsagentur beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte mehr als 2 Wochen. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Oktober 2012 bei BSH Hausgeräte (Michalovce (Slowakei)).

Vorstellungsgespräch

I have asked a stuffing agency for some details about a different job. I was called for an registration interview by an agent of that agency and the agent who conducted it became my "personal" agent for that staffing agency. At the interview he has suggested this position for me. He has set up an interview at the time, that was not the best for me, since I had to travel to another city in the middle of the day since the company was not willing to conduct the interview early or late in the day (understand 7am or 5pm). Therefore I had to take a half day off from my current job so I would not have to explain, where I needed to go forthree hours in the middle of the day.

The interview at BSH was rather fast and unstructured. It was conducted by a recruiter, HR Manager and Logistics manager of the company. I was seated in a office, not a meeting room, and had to wait for the logistics manager to arrive. Upon hear arrival she immediately fired off a question: "So what experience you actually have since you mention 6+ years in logistics?"

The whole interview was conducted in a way that screamed we do not actually need you because we are that good but we are pushed from above. All three people were leaning away from me and seemed not to be paying any attention to my answers to their questions. On the other hand, when I placed a question their answers came in vague as if they did not actually want to surrender any information at all.

After about 20 minutes they concluded the interview session and asked a "by the way" if I would like to see the production process. Again my affirmative answer has astonished them, as if they did not expect it.

When we have concluded the fast guided tour of the plant I have posed a quick question about a specific situation where the input of the new hired person would be needed and the reaction was the same again. Utter astonishment and uncomfortable poses.

In my opinion, the whole interview was conducted very unprofessionally. Late arrival, no structure or system in the interview, the body language saying we do not want you here, boasting about current results with an attitude asking "can you top that" did not really persuade me, that I want to work for this company. It seemed to me that the people that have interviewed me where the employees of the original manufacturing company that used to be in the same plant during the communist era and their practices stayed in that era too.

Now I am waiting for the results and the possible offer. The company reserved two weeks for the final decision.
