Ich habe mich persönlich beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 3 Wochen. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im März 2014 bei ATB Financial (Calgary, AB (Kanada)).

Vorstellungsgespräch

Interviewing for this position was proof in the power of networking and getting noticed for your work. I was aware of the position posting and before applying I was actually approached by the hiring manager who encouraged me to apply despite initial reservations I had surrounding the role. So I ended up applying and went through the interview process, we had an informal interview to begin with to just discuss the position, what it was about and what I could bring to the table, it was a brand new position which is why we had this discussion. After the informal interview we had a second interview, this time as a group with one of his associates involved as well. We avoided some of the semantics as both interviews knew me quite well from my current role and were impressed with my work and knew what I was capable of, by the end it was clear I was the preferred candidate for the position.

  • There were no overly difficult questions that I hadn't prepared for, as usual I studied behavioral based questions going in. The most difficult part was just setting clear expectations on what the position was about since it was brand new.   1 Antwort

Gründe für die Ablehnung

As previously mentioned this was a brand new position so the Salary Grade was Under Review. By the end of negotiation with HR they were unable to match the salary expectation I would need to leave my current role. This was no knock against the hiring manager, but more of an HR procedure/technicality that couldn't be avoided. During this time the work group was also under going a realignment from Retail Financial Services to Strategy and Operations, so there would have also been a delayed hiring process/freeze even if they could meet salary expectations.
