Pros

Competitive salaries, ability to sell earns you higher pay through commission, excellent health care benefits, 401k, profit sharing, and other benefits. Professional environment and friendly... co-workers. Also, the shopping discount is a plus! I recommend Nordstrom for someone not looking for a management position.

Kontras

Working every weekend, summer, and holiday. There aren't many positions that offer a set schedule, so expect working nights, mid-days, and mornings. This can be challenging for families or those... looking to plan events that would coincide with the weekend or holidays. As a manager, your workload is extremely heavy and you are expected to "do it all." As a sales person you need to be a strong seller otherwise you will find yourself not making enough money or removed from your position.

Managers should have a more balanced schedule and shouldn't have so many burdens of responsibility on their shoulders. While there are so many current responsibilities it is nearly impossible to also... expect managers to sell. Managers should not be expected to work more than 40 hours per week without receiving overtime compensation. The demands during the holidays and summer sale are too heavy to bear and don't provide a healthy work-life balance.

None what so ever one of the worst companies I have ever worked for. Absolutely disgusting how they treat their staff, I was bullied by HR and by my managers and area managers. They discriminate... against transgenders and there was no evidence of equality on my training when I went to London for 2 days. It was all about women doing make up and nothing about Males being able to do make up and to work for Estée Lauder. Absolutely disgusting brand. I would never ever ever advise anyone to work for the brand and I’ll never buy from the brand.
