Negative company culture. The culture encourages people to point fingers when mistakes are made, pass the buck, and put profits over people
Poor management. Micromanage and don't do the work to allow their employees to be successful at the job. It starts at the very top and the negative effects seep all the way to the quarry level.
If it's broke, apologize but never fix the problem
Vulcan markets itself as an industry leader so they rush to make changes with no preparation, leaving employees and customers frustrated.

Stop micromanaging. Let employees take ownership of their work. Don't give people a job if you don't trust them to do it.
Do your job so that your employees can be successful at theirs. When you ask employees to do a job but don't give them the tools or lay the ground work, you set them up for failure and frustration. Lack of preparation and communication at the management level leads to unhappy employees
