Split personality disorder abounds. AXA's annoying adopted kid brother from 2018 - XL. This, my friends, is one confuuuuuused organization run by yes men and yes women sucking up and on to the French teat in Paris whilst they try to impress their new adoptive parent and reassure them that the 2018 acquisition was money well spent (remains to be seen).
RIP XL Catlin; say hello to AXA XL. Or, more simply put, XL - a division of AXA.
Do not kid yourself: short of the AXA logo on your email signature you are NOT working for AXA. You are working for a Bermuda-based sweatshop with huge swaths of American influence and control. There is nothing remotely European or 'AXA' about this company.

Figure out the management structure asap. Utter shambles. Product line groupings/profit centres versus regional groupings/profit centres. Get it together, and get it together fast.

The company was eager to meet within 48 hours of application, screened, committed to follow up "later that week", never heard anything after that. I suspect from what was shared that they are operated out of the US, looking for someone to "toe the line" in Canada and are trying to low-ball. Will be great if you're looking for little pay for assuming a pseudo role of "head of HR" under the title of HRBP - guessing workload will be heavy as there is no other HR professional in Canada.
