G Mechanical Inc. is a reputable mid-sized commercial HVAC contractor dedicated to delivering high-quality services to our clients. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Estimating to lead our estimating department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, exceptional analytical skills, and leadership abilities to drive accurate and competitive bids.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the estimating process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and competitiveness.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor other estimators, providing guidance, support, and training to enhance their skills and performance.
• Bid Management: Oversee the preparation of bids and proposals for HVAC projects, ensuring they align with client requirements, specifications, and budget constraints.
• Cost Estimation: Conduct thorough cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors to accurately estimate projects.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks and maximize profitability.
• Vendor and Supplier Relations: Maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms for materials and services.
• Bid Review: Review and analyze bid documents, contracts, and project specifications to identify scope of work, project requirements, and potential challenges.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements and best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the estimating department.
• Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to make informed decisions and maintain competitiveness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating HVAC projects, preferably in the commercial sector.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and installation methods.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Fastpipe/Fastduct, Excel is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proven leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and inspire a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 per year
