    As someone that has been with the company for a good while, I would have recommended this place to anyone. In fact, I have. This is no longer the case. If you want quite a bit of external hires who become leaders ( but are unaware of the culture or site in general ) this is the place for you. If you want a leader to care for your customers, yourself, or your peers then this is no longer the company for you. The... leaders who are promoted are numbers driven and don't seem to care about how you are getting to the resolution you get to. If you don't fit into this mold then you seem to be shunned from the "in" leaders and are criticized for your work. This is something that as a service representative you should not be able to witness going on. However, you can see it and it is apparent who is getting targeted and who is not. This creates the environment to become stressful and bleeds into your life. That causes stress in your work/life balance as well. Worries that if you have a bad week, that you may get written up and moved out the door to be replaced by someone else is a daily fear across the call floor. Leaders and the company should be noticing this, but if they do they don't seem to care. Decisions at a company level are made by leaders who have never taken these phone calls either, but expect us to deliver these harder messages and meet those metrics still. The company does offer mental health leave and many have taken advantage of that lately. This is something that should also raise red flags, but doesn't seem to matter. There needs to be major changes in order to be recommended. Main change is to show care and compassion to their employees, not just whenever and engagement survey, or best place to work survey is about to come out and need to be filled out. Doing those little "activities" are further proof the ones making the decisions feel like the representatives can't read between the lines and can be fooled.

    Take the time to understand what your teammates do on a daily basis. Metrics and goals are set by people who have never touched a phone call and do not understand what conversations are like. Teammates are held to these unrealistic standards and put through stress induced labor to try and meet it, but when they can’t meet it or another metric suffers, they are written up. Team leaders are allowed to be toxic and... bully their teammates and are rewarded and recognized for this while other team leaders who actually care for the teammates are treated poorly for not going with the status quo. Ebay has some of the hardest conversations from other call centers and there is hardly any incentive to actually make the teammate happy. Employee happiness is only considered when it comes time to have the “best places to work” survey. Most of the leadership only look after themselves and how they can further their career, they have no problem throwing a teammate under the bus or “setting an example” of someone to make others fall in line. Unless you are friends with someone in a higher position, you aren’t likely to get promoted. Devin was great, but it’s clear that he saw where Ebay is headed and chose to move on from a sinking ship. Now with him gone, this company has lost its vision for the teammate and customer experience of “world class”.
