    Pros

    Great benefits - paid public transportation, catered food, stock bonus and regular bonus. Allows you to have a great work like balance.

    Kontras

    At one point, it was a start up. Things have changed as expected for considering it is a startup however now that Venmo is the beast that it is - rules have been inforced. If you don't like change or to comply with the rules - may not be the place for you.

    Pros

    Great benefits, though perks keep being quietly shuffled out over time. Interesting and challenging tech problems due to the rapid growth of the company. Amazing and smart people to work with.

    Upper management has become increasingly heavy handed as the company's intense growth puts more burden on the bottom line. New leadership is much more interested in keeping the people above them happy then taking basic care of employees. Work-life balance has taken a huge downturn as company commitments take center stage. This means lots of decisions handed down from on-high and autonomy/input-power being taken away from the people actually building the product. Almost all senior roles and long-time employees have turned over within the past year.

    Leadership makes a big show of "listening" but hasn't show any actual response / change / action from what they're being told. Culture as a whole has taken a huge hit as the people who most actively worked to nurture the community got burnt out and left. Naturally things like diversity have taken a hit as there's less focus on making a welcoming, inclusive workplace, and things are increasingly siloed across teams.

    The people who work here have a unique connection to the product - we use it, our friends use it, people we know depend on it on a daily basis. It makes us even more motivated to make a great product, but also means it hurts us particularly when we're told to do things that hurt our users or that we can't be trusted to make decisions. Please start listening to us.

    I have never worked for a company that made you feel more uncomfortable in my life. This is a huge high school that acts as if they care about diversity which they don't and promotions are based on which managers likes you vs merit.

    The Upper management not the leads are 100% clueless, they know 0 about the product, how it works, our day to day work or any of the metrics they create and try to drive.

    The office culture caters to the LGBTQ community and white people, people of color are afterthoughts. Black History Month, a joke. Pride Month a celebration.

    Majority of leadership is white, quality assurance 99% white.

    This company cares nothing about the users as they make them wait 3-5 day for responses but they care even less about the employees. Service Level who cares, customers waiting who cares upset customer who cares, but hey look new sign ups yay!

    I've been with the company for less than 6 months and everything they sold me on has changed. One of the managers is a passive aggressive bully and they other one is never there. I left a job making more money because I thought this would be a less stressful environment but this is not it. You're chained to your laptop and now chained to your desk. Certain jobs a half hr lunch is doable. This is not one of them. When I first started the schedules were evenly broken up between the 3 channels and that was fine. Now your schedule is majority the most or the 2 most stressful channels.

    Since no longer being able to work in the common areas and the increase in the 2 channels, I've had 4 anxiety attacks. It's not work it.

    Either be different or be the same, but stop lying about it. That's where you're losing people.

    Free food/stocked kitchen
    Travel reimbursement (even though they said it wouldn't come on our checks but it indeed does)
    You dont have to sit with your 'team'
    Overtime when its offered.
    Free stuff when you can catch it.
    Pay is decent for the job and the perks.
    Scooters.

    None of the leads have ever led before...
    You can tell diversity is a newer thing to the company
    1/2hr lunch breaks
    QA... Just everything abt QA
    Weekly meetings -why?
    The normal call center cliqueyness
    I'm still waiting on gift cards that were promised on 01/07
    Everything that gets updated is a worse update (we all hate 6.0)
    Upper management harps on petty things like cubbies and phone rooms but not why the 12:30 lunch keeps running out of food.
    We need at least one more WFH day man, cmon yall

    If you're going to sell the dream so hard during training (instead of training - training was literally just playing meet and greet games with the entire office and sleeping during slides)

    Great people, mostly good management and outlook. Fun work environment. Challenging work.

    PayPal culture starting to trickle in. Need more genuine product innovations.

    Rat an das Management

    Be careful that PayPal's influence won't change culture. Keep being open, honest and transparent. Hire more people who know how to scale organizations (technically and culturally). Find ways to innovate. There are a lot of good ideas out there if you know how to leverage them.
