    Pros

Very flexible schedule, generous vacation, office is nice, people are friendly

    Kontras

Low pay, Health insurance for employees is low-grade, no where to "move up", no jobs to transfer to, they work you hard and then ask for more. New system "upgrade" has pushed employees to the end of their ropes because of inability to produce the work that is demanded.

Stop working us to death! This is a healthcare company afterall!

    Pros

flexible schedule depending on who your boss is

    Kontras

software they use to bundle and auto process claims is notoriously wrong causing on going issues of inaccurate denials. as a processor, I saw these issues brought to management, but it was usually up to the provider or patient to call on a claim--very rarely did they automatically reprocess denied claims for known systems issues. just another hoop for dr's to jump through in order to be reimbursed

thousands of employees working for a health insurance company should be able to get better insurance benefits than $2500 deductible!!

    Pros

The slight possibility (and I mean slight) that one day you MAY be (maybe, I said) be able to work from home.

    Kontras

Pay 2-3.00 lower than other companies. Seeing customers get ripped off on their claims Racial discrimination Total lack of manager empathy Working when I am sick because if I don't I will get written up Nepotism Lack of flexibility in management Tools to perform job inadequate inadequate management No Raises, No bonuses

    Rat an das Management

Fix all of the above, or the place will keep moving more people in and out the Grand Central Station.

    Pros

Decent Wages, Flexible hours, and very good insurence. Ten holiday a year. 3 weeks PTO to for new hires. The work is work and as such not terribly enjoyable but the benifits more then make up for it. They even have a program to let employees who meet certain standards work from home.

    Kontras

Very demanding goals. Most of them are reasonalbe but a few seem to be stricter then is neccessary.

    Rat an das Management

I think for the most part things are heading in the right direction. They care about there customers opinions. The have high standards for there employees but most are not unreasonable. They have a fairly comprehensive training style that combines a class like atmosphere and on the job training.

„Leading Healthcare Insurance Company struggles with training and quality”

Ich arbeite bei UnitedHealth Group ()

    Pros

It is a huge company with many jobs; the compensation and benefits are competitive within the insurance industry.

    Kontras

The company struggles with communication and respect for employees at the very regional levels. I witnessed employees humiliated during team meetings. I experienced harassment by my supervisor.

    Rat an das Management

I believe Senior Management focuses on quality and training, but in the trickle down to regional site managers that focus diminishes. I believe it would be useful for Senior Management to visit regional sites and be more proactive in a "managers helping managers" approach. Employee retention is clearly a problem in the site where I work. It is my understanding that this is a repeating problem throughout the United... States for United Health Group.
