    Great company culture! People are excited to work here, which is not always the case. Managers allow breathing room and allow you to grow and manage your work at your own pace. Offers great professional development. Have training available and managers can help get you certifications to further your career. Have flexibility to move to a different department if that is something yo are interested in. Promotion... opportunities. AMAZING work/life balance.

    Not really a con, but being that the company is relatively big, it is tough to know everyone and their job functions unless you directly with them.

    Pros

    Undertone has the energy of a start up with progressive employee policies, but the resources and stability of a much more mature company, including really good benefits. The work is interesting and ever-evolving. The industry is fun. Finally, the people make the place. It is an inviting, supportive and stimulating place to be day-to-day. The leadership is very open to ideas from all and willing to go out on a... limb to try new things.

    Pros

    Undertone is a company that is changing and evolving really fast. I find this to be incredibly exciting and fun. The company is full of really smart, creative and energetic people. It's a really innovative company compared to places I've worked before. We are in the middle of reinventing Undertone and it seems to be working with our clients. You don't get too many chances in life to work at a place that is doing... that successfully. There are some really fun perks that come with working here like snacks, team events, beer cart, dress code, etc etc.

    There is a small group of negative people that can create a little bit of a gossipy toxic environment. I can stay away from it, but i see some good people get sucked in sometimes. most of these people dont fit the direction the company is going so they bad mouth. many of them should probably just quit or be fired. the open floor plan doesnt work here. there is too much collaboration needed between teams and... some of the teams are too loud and disruptive.

    Keep going with the transformation. Many former ad networks are dying and we were able to re-invent. Stop trying to please the negative people and just weed them out. Focus on those of us who are psyched for the direction. Open more headcount to add talent.

    Pros

    Great people (peers), cool office space, great stepping-stone in your career. Used to have GREAT middle managers and contributors. Flexible schedule and can always work from home.

    Senior management is very comfortable and does a great job at putting a ceiling above any rising stars within the company. The company talks about how much they value people, but all of their most valuable and award-winning people leave which is both alarming and ironic. Almost all training and feedback is insincere - feels more like a pep rally than actually preparing you for industry challenges. There are so many... bosses that NOBODY has any idea what they do all day.

    Replace the candy and rainbows with a dose of reality. As a former manager told me once, "people get motivated by overcoming challenges together." The industry is changing and evolving and management doesn't seem to acknowledge. LISTEN to your employees. Most people loved Cassidy because he actually listened to people which doesn't seem to happen anymore.

    The great culture of a few years ago is still in evidence, though disappearing fast. Still a lot of bright and friendly people. Great facility.

    Any reviews here dated before 2015 apply to Undertone as it used to be. Things have changed drastically in the past year, due to changes in top management. • When Mike Cassidy stepped down as COO in mid-2014, things started downhill fast. His genuineness, honesty and ever-present encouraging personality set the tone for great teamwork and deeply motivated employees. But the culture now reflects the aggressive,... competitive, cagey personality of the new COO, Corey Ferengul. When Mike passed through your department, people felt charged up and happy. When Corey passes through, people tense up and feel deflated. That says a lot. • Even the good people at Undertone are now focussed on watching their backs and succeeding at one another's expense. Great managers with creative minds and inspiring leadership qualities have been replaced by stressed-out, whip-cracking managers afraid to displease the COO. • Many of the best people have left or been let go for not fitting in with this harsher atmosphere. Work-life balance gets worse each year. • The heart of the problem is the CEO and the management team he brought in from his previous role. Many of them are talented and sincere, but no one seems willing to challenge the COO or tell him how much damage he is doing. • Finally, HR used to be one of the best, seemed to truly be of-the-employees and for-the-employees. But now that department seems to exist mainly to spin bad news as good news. not to help employees and make conditions better. Benefits are worse than they used to be, and people are afraid to air complaints with HR, fearing that HR will stamp them as troublemakers who need to be let go. HR now seems to be there mainly to reduce benefits a little more each year and to paint rosy pictures. The HR staff used to be proactively helpful. Now they tend to keep their distance from other departments. Again, a reflection of the change in management's overall personality.

    Bring back Mike Cassidy, or at least the culture of genuine honesty and teamwork he inspired by example. The fact that you've lost many of the leaders and workers who built Undertone should be a sign you've taken a wrong turn. Your problem is not a lack of vision or talented people. It's a problem of overbearing, unappreciative and threatening top leadership that has created an atmosphere of caution, internal... competition and looking-out-for-yourself — in place of the old atmosphere where people loved Undertone and stretched themselves to make it successful. People are afraid to disagree with management, afraid to criticize, afraid to suggest new ideas. It seems that people are let go for minor mistakes. This has created a chilling effect on innovation and risk-taking, and causes people to horde ideas and compete for recognition instead of trying to rise as a team. Morale is lower than you probably know.

    Great value prop for customers which leads to meaningful work. Strong and dedicated leadership team. Well regarded in the industry - excellent reputation. Wonderful culture and focus on employee growth and development.

    Competitive industry means lots of changes. You need to be nimble and open minded. Not for everyone.

    Amazing company culture. Work hard/play hard mentality is a perfect balance. People are extremely hard-working, but enjoy the work, and always with a smile on their faces. Super smart colleagues that are always challenging themselves and continually learning. Company appreciates hard work by promoting from within. Folks really take pride in working at Undertone and it shows in their passion for the brand. The... company also has a great reputation in the industry and I can easily see why it has consistently won awards for being a 'Best Company to Work for'.

    There are not many downsides to working at Undertone. The base hours are a bit longer than most companies and they don't match employee 401K contributions, but they make up for these in other ways.

    Keep the 'play hard' part of the 'work hard/play hard' mentality so that employees continue to enjoy coming to work every day; without it, you risk employees getting 'burnt out'. Consider matching employee 401K contributions.

    Smart people, go-getters, willing to work together. Great company culture and perks, including company-covered insurance, snacks, gym memberships, etc. Strong development opportunities, with training and growth opportunities.

    Kontras

    Work/life balance and responsibilities not consistent among teams, leaving some teams out of the fun activities that are planned for work hours/post-work hours. Inconsistent stances on policies/many exceptions made lead to morale issues sometimes.

    More vision for what is coming in the future/where we are prioritizing would be great, and would help employees with day-to-day decisions.
