Ich arbeite seit mehr als einem Jahr bei Towergate Insurance (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Great training provider. I knew nothing about insurance, before coming to Towergate. The training delivered is the best I've ever received.

    Kontras

Scripts and Fair Presentation statement. Need to be customer friendly. Pay is not in line with other Customer Service Roles . Limited career progression. Don't always keep up with competitors.

    Rat an das Management

Really listen to the staff. They speak with the clients directly.

Ich habe für mehr als ein Jahr bei Towergate Insurance gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Great colleagues (great bonds form as you deal with the insanity daily). Very accessible location, lots of great places to eat at lunch. Paid on time (excluding over time, pay is dependent on memory and there is no guarantee the amount will be right, not a COMMON problem but occurs too often). There are people (inc a handful of management- maybe a few fingers), who really are trying to make the best out of a bad... situation. Quite frankly it is still experience on your CV to GET OUT & work for a better company.

Shocking staff turnover (including management). A company where improvement suggestions are branded as 'being negative'. YET THEY EXPECT GROWTH? (honestly ludicrous). Negative is the buzz word for Leadership. Reply 'negative' to suggestions and do nothing to improve but expect things to some how function effectively? It is as if they become offended when you identify a flaw and offer some solutions. Get the job... done, doesn't matter if you do it right or wrong. Just do it so we can say you've done it. No concept of quality hence the endless... Well look at the complaints statistics they speak for themselves. Inability to recognise talent. It doesn't matter if you have a clue what you are doing as long as you can say how high quick enough. Talent to them is who is the most audible yes man not who has the right skills to push the company ahead. There is being a team player and then there is just being ignorant to the problems around you because you don't want to upset senior management. It is so telling; when not a single member of the management team across ALL departments can inspire anyone (the inspirational individuals saw sense and jumped ship). With these leaders there is NO wow factor, just narcissistic individuals endlessly on a power trip; they are not courteous or polite (not all but the majority). How can you manage without people skills nor relevant experience in your line of work?! (The fish rots from the head down). When you observe the way leaders conduct themselves you know as long as you aren't emulating those traits you are on the right track (backbiting openly, gathering to have quick gossip sessions, revealing confidential information about individuals, just uncouth and unfortunately really nothing positive). It is no surprise the company is where it is. Last but not least the pay does not match the expectations (which changes depending on the direction the wind blows). Work requirements change but the salary remains the same. Look at the same roles in the job market. Is dissatisfaction amongst employees really surprising? All in all the theory is good but the execution is oh so poor!

Leadership is not a TITLE it is a service. Review the people in place of leadership, why are they leading people itching to get out? Encourage the ppl who sit there day in day out to offer their observations and ideas of how to make it better. These people are the eyes of the company! When more than one person repeats the same thing, there is usually some truth in it. How many more LOSSES (man power, market... reputation, financial to name a few) will it take before you LISTEN. Because I'm sure you've HEARD all of this before.

    Pros

Friendships formed - Nothing positive to say about any good points as there are little to non. I will say one thing I will be glad to see the back of it

    Kontras

Pour pay. Managers untrained managers are selected by how many friends they all ready have in the company Meetings help unprofessionally staff being bullied clients documents on display even though it's meant to be a paperless office. The FCA would have a field day in our office Broken relationships with other insurance companies brokers even other Towergate offices don't want to know SBU. HR department and managers... loosing important and confidential documentation of the staff. Holidays always being declined but managers get time off with a click of a finger. Staff medical appointments being declined even operations. You try and speak to HR and managers you trust and you business gets spread all round the office. Managers dealing coke to staff gambling thank god I saw sense and I'm out of there now. Shame really because it would of been amazing if they honoured all the things they promised us from the start

    Pros

None, there are no positive aspects to report.

    Kontras

I have never experienced such a chaotic working environment. It all looked great on paper, and the office is aesthetically pleasing but what goes on in that office is nothing short of unorganized chaos. The training is laughable, the support is none existent, team leaders are trained to the same level as advisors, and in most cases they know less than the team members they manage. Low morale, no hope of pay review,... enforced "fun" at work includes child like games more suited to a primary school than professional working environment. Changes in structure, procedures and systems communicated by email, of which there are many! Don't believe the tripe they reel you in with, about how amazing the company is and all the opportunities that lie ahead. The place is in chaos for a reason, management have no clue what they are doing. It makes you sick when you're sat listening to some poor mistreated customer on the phone and there's a management meeting going on 4 feet away from you in a room with no door and they're all laughing and screeching loudly. I suppose it is funny if you're getting away with sitting in a cosy room having meetings about meetings and getting paid a ridiculous amount for it. Heaven forbid a customer should ever ask to speak to your supervisor, they have not been trained to deal with the type of inquiries we get day in day out, worse still, we're not properly trained either.. Nobody cares now, nobody will care moving forward.

Pay some attention to the staff asking you for support, bring in some proper incentives so that people actually want to come to work. Most staff dread coming in every day. Consider how little you really know and admit that the training is flawed. Most companies would have a tried and tested training program in place before expecting employees to go through six weeks of meaningless nonsense. Give a little clarity and... consistency when it comes to work load and expectations.
