Everyone loves what they do and the term 'flat hierarchy' is actually true here - you can talk to anyone about an idea you have and people don't judge you based on your job title

Thank you for your review! I hear you about travel - and while it's a given for many who live the consultant life - we are working to manage the demand for travel and make it easier and more seamless for those on the road or in the air. - Nicole

Ich arbeite seit mehr als einem Jahr bei ThoughtWorks (Vollzeit)

    Pros

I feel that ThoughtWorks as a consultancy has managed to position itself i great community, super smart and engaged people, and somewhere where I can reconcile my hippy ideals with the awful reality of having to work in a largely capitalist greed driven world. I love the fact that there is almost no hierarchy, essentially, The board -> Everyone else in the company, everyone who has the inclination to can influence the...

    Kontras

As per any consultancy, there is the likelihood of travel... if you are unlucky, this can be a pretty relentless grind. The commitment to social and economic justice is great, but inevitably there are conflicts between these goals and the clients we work with, don't expect to only be working for environmental/Social justice NGOs etc. this is very unlikely to happen. Alot of the Social and economic justice activities...

    Rat an das Management

Keep up the transparency, the interesting work and the social engagement and let's make sure that whilst growing sustainably, we don't expand at the cost of our quality and our culture.

    Pros

Culture and core values, smart people.

    Kontras

Due to recent change in mgmt. Hyderabad Office is experiencing some immature leadership. Be it office managers, people champion and capability lead (lol) The funniest part was if u don't have capability and speaks well then you will be next capability lead.

    Rat an das Management

Learn some people management skills. Treat equally dont show favouritism.

Ich arbeite seit mehr als 8 Jahren bei ThoughtWorks (Vollzeit)

    Pros

    * Technology led. In other companies where I worked for before TW, technologists did as they were told by commercial people. I was amazed at the sway technical people have - and conversely, how focused technical folks here are on doing the right thing for customers. Treat us like adults, we behave like adults. * Agile engineering for real. Another thing that was truly different for me was the use of agile practices like...

    Kontras

    * Travel obviously. Unless this is a plus for you, in which case it can be awesome. It's harder for older people with families. * Working your way up the promotion path (the grading system) is not easy, and takes longer than you think it should. Ideally this shouldn't matter - people are respected based on what they do and how they behave. But it's hard to ignore if you feel like you should be a Lead or Principal and...

Consider (and communicate to the rest of us) what the vision is post-Apax. If (when) they flip us to new ownership, will that ownership continue to see the primary purpose of ThoughtWorks as a capitalist engine for financial returns? Is there a path to ownership by someone who sees improving how technology is used for the betterment of society as a first-rank goal, rather than something which is nice only as long as...

    Stimmt gegen Geschäftsführer

Ich habe weniger als ein Jahr bei ThoughtWorks als Vollzeit gearbeitet

    Pros

No work pressure at all, chill life

    Kontras

    1. Quality of projects that are undertaken is very low/bad (I was working on some data ingestion task in a graph db) 2. Doesn't matter what they say, chances are you'll be doing very trivial work 3. Horrible management! No effort is made to match employees' skills to the projects they work/consult on 4. No cutting edge work, hence, no learning 5. Compensation is very less, not according to industry standards.

    Rat an das Management

    1. Make sure that the employees are liking the project they have been assigned 2. Please undertake projects where the employees can actually learn some new things and which challenge their brains

Ich arbeite seit mehr als 5 Jahren bei ThoughtWorks (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Been 7 years, I feel like joined 7 months back. Lively environment. Feedback culture is what keeps you shaping up. Good number of opportunities. Any tech/tool I'm passionate about, there is a work about it going on in TW. If I don't find interested tech stack in my project, I pick my own pet project and there is always a support from office and community.

    Kontras

People miss using the benefits and flexibility that company offers. When few things are let to happen on trust basis, we should live upto to maintain the trust. eg: No limited sick leaves, If we start to miss-use such things may be we see cut down on such policies.

    Rat an das Management

When we are hiring in big number I assume management ensures culture is not diluted.
