    Pros

    Decent pay scale, and the work environment is nice. Most associates are great to work with

    Pros

    TD was a great place to work while it lasted. I worked for the company for over 10 yrs and grew with it in various roles in the branch network. I was fortunate to be a part of the growth in the good ole days, became a stockholder and enjoyed great benefits during my tenure. Met lifelong friends and helped thousands of clients and hundreds of associates better their lives over the years. I will miss working there as it was truly one of the best work experiences I’ve ever had.

    If you are not a top producer or in a position to earn stock, it will feel like just a job. If you have equity in the company then you will feel great - like one should feel when they are working hard especially during tough times. Turnover is a problem because unfortunately many see the opportunities as just a job and are bouncing from one B/D to the next. The comp plan for branch associates has become where you will make the most money and be a top performer when you use the in-house investment management offering even if the client’s needs are best suited by a fiduciary advisor that an FC can refer to so there is a constant struggle to do the best thing for the client even if it means making less money. The in-house offering is good however, TD will not allow associates to give advice or be a fiduciary when the clients need it most - just guidance.
    Many great employees are unfortunately laid off in the National Branch and they are all out of work looking for other opportunities. You would think TD would help find them other positions in the firm and retain talent but that is likely not the case. Instead, they will layoff great employees, then turn around and post new positions in the future leaving many of the great ones without jobs.

    Retain your employees, especially those that helped TD enjoy the success of where they are today. Re-align the comp plan where SFCs can truly do the best thing for the client and not just in-house solutions that pay more. Reward more talent with equity in the company to retain associates because they will work their tail off for you if you do.

    Some really great perks with quarterly bonuses, stock incentives, competitive salary, beautiful HQ building, and excellent maternity leave and PTO policies

    Lot of work with recent acquisitions but growth is exciting and gives a positive outlook for the future

    Pros

    - I am lucky to have a good manager.
    - Generous vacation time accrual and benefits
    - Assigned book of business with some managed money.
    - Decent base salary with a draw component

    Kontras

    - High quarterly sales goals. Upper management is trying hard to shut the back door.
    - Made commitment to money guide pro and training, but you cannot use it to provide advice.
    - Phone jockey position, pressure to hit activity standards that does not mean it equates to business.
    - Company finds ways to take business away from you. You are always on a recorded phone line, calls are reviewed.

    It seems like most of the issues that have been on the minds of branch staffs are being looked at and addressed. The company still has work to do on client segmentation. Give the branches more flexibility in working with clients. There is a reason why the company only has 17% wallet share. We cannot provide any advice or say anything that could be construed as advice. Clients are looking for guidance and advice. The only option we have is a fee based solution. Most clients prefer having an in-house option for guidence.

    Pros

    -Decent 401k plan
    -PTO is getting to industry standard
    -A lot of my coworkers are friendly
    -Pay is okay, but a bit under industry norm

    -Be ready to have to stick to your schedule 24/7. Adherence to your schedule is looked at heavily.
    -We are told that sales are "unstated needs", when in actuality the push for us to get our clients to talk to a FC is so that we can ultimately manage all of our client's assets.
    -Sales are looked at more heavily than a good client experience.
    -There is potential growth, but if you want to go to another department you have to be in the initial position for 1 year.
    -Misleading statements that leads to false hope.
    -A LOT of my associates are here just to get to a position then hop to another firm that pays more.

    Rat an das Management

    Don't get focused on just the sales aspect of the job for career development, I can't tell how many times I've had to clean up another associates calls in order to retain customers and still get hammered on my sales not reaching a certain criteria. Client experience should be the biggest objective, that's what leads to more sales on our side.
    With all the emphasis on sales and nothing else really mattering, I'm starting to look around like my other associates for potential other places for employment...
