Ich habe in Vollzeit bei T-Systems North America gearbeitet (Über 10 Jahre)

    Pros

Great benefits (PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision, 401k Match). Flexible for work/life balance (Work From Home).
    Competitive pay above scale.

    Kontras

No sales/product direction in the North American market. Germany management dictates and USA management tows the line. Not competitive price wise with the MSP market and products are a step behind other solutions. Too much convolution/red tape in implementation of solutions.

    Rat an das Management

Please plead your case to Germany management that the North American market is much different than the European market. There are a bunch of talented folks working there just waiting to dominate the North American market if you could just let them without the Germany leash.

Ich arbeite in Vollzeit bei T-Systems North America

    Pros

Engagement of teams and management, hard-to-match benefits in the IT industry, international opportunities, career advancement.

    Kontras

Bad press coming from HQ, support to local growth from HQ, need to improve sales drive.

    Rat an das Management

Continue accountability management, you are sometimes lenient with poor performers.

    Pros

PTO/Benefits, work from home, vacation time

    Kontras

No new customers/ Retention is bad

    Rat an das Management

change Sales Strategy. Bring on some new talent with diverse experience, not only in what we sell but with what the competition has to offer. Many new technologies out there.

Ich habe in Vollzeit bei T-Systems North America gearbeitet

    Pros

The job was great , the pay was great , the benefits are pretty great too. Co-workers are like family, many of them have been there for more than 20 years.

    Kontras

Local and global management are poor. Not competitive within the IT outsourcing market. Few US customers. Customer retention poor.

A major new strategy is unveiled every 3-5 years which is usually 2-3 years behind the market and usually fails.

Ich habe in Vollzeit bei T-Systems North America gearbeitet (Über 10 Jahre)

    Pros

    * global projects
    * chances to travel / expat internationally
    * good culture within teams
    * work-from-home is an option available, depending on your role
    * pretty decent benefits

    Kontras

    * poor international cooperation between HQ in Germany and international entities
    * working on global projects, sometimes territorial conflicts block progress
    * hard to push innovation in well established areas

    Rat an das Management

Be open for innovation coming from newly acquired companies and be open for compromise. Also, make your homework before giving presentations in other countries/cultures. I still remember an introductory speech of a German manager in the US: "...we are hardly working to improve..."

    Kontras

Ich arbeite in Vollzeit bei T-Systems North America (Über 5 Jahre)

    Pros

    - Great Medical and Dental
    - Non-Elective 401k
    - Great work/life balance with lots of PTO available
    - Great People

    Kontras

    - Compensation isn't as competitive compared to the market

    Rat an das Management

For top management: Sometimes you have to make a decision, staying on the fence on a topic is worse than making the wrong decision.

Middle Managment: Remember your direct reports are people and if you take care of your people they will, in turn, take care of you.

Overall T-Systems is a good company to work for, a bit misguided over the past few years but nonetheless, they are now making the changes the will help it become a great company to work for.

Ich arbeite in Vollzeit bei T-Systems North America (Über 8 Jahre)

    Pros

Good compensation and benefits including annual bonuses based on company performance. Fair work / life balance. Regular internal communication.

    Kontras

Former sales staff often sold contracts that were not profitable and company would lose money, negatively impacting frequency of salary increases and causing repeating workforce reductions.

    Rat an das Management

Speak to individual performers who actually do the work to understand what is required before promising too much to customer for not enough profit.

Ich arbeite in Vollzeit bei T-Systems North America (Über 8 Jahre)

    Pros

Good benefits, great 401k contribution...good people to work with

    Kontras

Start out with Executive Mgmt....lack of leadership, say one thing do another. Say they believe in work/life relationship, and even Work From Home, but in reality, would rather have everyone in the office and watched under scrutiny.
Pay in some areas was competitive, in IT for the Arizona and Michigan areas was about 10% under market.
Their IT model is about 3-5 yrs behind competition, and it takes too long to build servers.
Sales team and Transition teams just dont get what they need to do. They keep stating they need to sell, but they are selling an old product that customers want new. Transition teams just go off of a template that is outdated, but it is easier to rinse and repeat than to build something that is competitive, and innovative.

    Rat an das Management

Everyone from Managing Director on down need need to review whether they really know what the heck they are doing. The sales model they have is outdated, the IT strategy is "lets just keep it going, and as long as I dont hear any problems, I am good." You need to be innovative!! It should not take 3-6 weeks to build a server, and the "cloud" technology is outdated, get up to speed!!

Ich arbeite in Vollzeit bei T-Systems North America (Über 3 Jahre)

    Pros

    Great people to work with.
    Very flexible.

    Kontras

    Too much unecessary bureaucracy.
Directors and managers are not prepared to lead people, the best employees are leaving the company.
    Total lack of transparency.

    Rat an das Management

    Take care of your employees.
