    Good medical insurance. Good place to get started in IT solution sales, unless you get hired somewhere else first.

    Softchoice is an entry-level IT solution sales organization. You will not find experienced people in the industry going to work for Softchoice. Unless you are working at headquarters, in Toronto, then you probably aren't bringing your dog to work or getting any of the perks that others mention that come with working for Softchoice.     It looks like management has turned over a few times in the few years since I have been gone. Try to hire sales leaders that care about coaching and know how to trust their sales team. Get rid of the tip of the spear.

    Very little pros at this company - they have coffee at the office

    This must be one of the worst companies around. They provide some of the worst sales training I've ever experienced. Keep sales people in the office even if you are an outbound. Crazy micro managing company. The Halifax office should just close, no one wants to do business with them and it makes sense why. The company really thinks they are impressive but they can't even communicate with themselves. Terrible setup...

    Pros

    You get a world class education in selling, there are dogs everywhere, great vibe in the office, can be a really fun place to work, good camaraderie among staff. They do a lot of things right here and you really do feel like you work somewhere adopting some of the best thinking and processes in the industry. Great benefits package too.

    No focus, you're always chasing your tail. You'll always be asked to do more than is possible within a day week due to competing interests of different vendors and lines of business who don't communicate. Internal marketing can be pretty grating. Have a tendency towards hand-holding and micromanagement since they don't want to recruit or pay for anyone with experience.

    With DMAC gone and all the Birch Hill boys running the show your staff needs to see a clear vision from the new leadership team. When were used to being told where were headed in 10 years and what that path looks like and all of a sudden the only thing that matters is quarterly profits it creates dissonance.

    -low base salary... but just like every job the real $ is in the commissions. Hard Work. Just like every job, you need to grind, and there are no exceptions here. Work smart, get paid.

Love your staff, and ensure they know it, and confirm that you actually know that they know it regularly, or get really good at hiring and training monthly because you will lose a lot of people.     Hire branch managers who have vast experience and relationships in local market and allow them to operate independently as per the market demands. This to eliminate sr. management interference that treats and mandates branches like they are Toronto. Bring back mid-year Outbound Sales conference (and move it around, anywhere but Toronto), this investment will pay performance dividends.

    Great company culture and team building events. Company places strong emphasis on volunteer and philanthropic work in the community. A lot of networking opportunities with all the channel partners.

    Very, very low base salary for senior level sales reps. Not very much coaching from District Sales Manager (in NYC office). The ability to work from home if need be every once in awhile was a big issue. Senior mgmt seemed out of touch with the big markets in the U.S. (most importantly NYC) because the company is based out of Toronto...very little marketing in the U.S. which never made sense to any of us in the NYC...

    Increase the base salary of sales reps to something that isn't so outdated ($45k is very, very low). Benefits in the U.S. weren't that great as they were said to be during our onboarding training.
