Low salary for all levels in store compared to what you are asked to manage and be accountable for

Ich habe in Vollzeit bei Sephora gearbeitet (Über 10 Jahre)

    Pros

    Gratis Team Environment
    Experience

    Kontras

    Corporate
    District and Regional Managers
    Loss Prevention

    Rat an das Management

Corporate hires to much outside and not enough from inside so there is a wide disconnect from the store experience and what corporate would like to see. Also Sephora loves technology but seems to go with the lowest bidder so the technology rarely works like it is suppose to resulting in associates not wanting to use it on clients and clients who are suspicious of it.

Ich arbeite in Teilzeit bei Sephora (Über 3 Jahre)

    Pros

Constant training on products, bonuses dependent on performance, potential to move up, great values (respect for all), they work with your persinal schedule most times

    Kontras

Clients come first regardless of how they treat you, management is impersonal, negative reaction when you take time off or call in sick, underpayed for the work you do, understaffed and stressfull work environment, on your feet for the majority of the day, moving up in the company is easier for full-timers and the "favourite" employees

Ich arbeite in Vollzeit bei Sephora (Weniger als ein Jahr)

    Pros

Worked at another Warehouse previously, and though the "Company Culture" started out fantastic, management made sure that it didn't last that long. Can't say the same for Sephora UDC (Utah Distribution Center). I hate to bash a word multiple times, but in this case, its justified. Company Culture, Love it. Management, Love it. Co-workers, Love it. Department team, Love it. Other department teams have worked with, Love it. Future career advancements, Love it. Many of the jobs I have done here, may take a little blood, sweat, and tears, but if you're willing to get a little dirty, and do the work, well, all I can say is a title of a song that seems appropriate here: The Futures So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades!

This isn't "pie in the sky" either, the other Warehouse job I had previously, turned out to be THAT. But, this Company has a "family" culture, and the "Moms" & "Dads" seem to have a mutual interest in keeping this culture harmonious and healthy. Even with the incredible diversity of the work force here, everyone bands together as a whole, to benefit the Company. Company "Departments" are like open-walled offices, when a department needs help, other departments drop their "walls" and come to assist. In my first couple of months at the UDC Warehouse, I was cross-trained in other departments and on many occasions, was called to assist when the need arose. This attitude doesn't stop at the "grunt" level either, many of my trainers, and Operations personnel came to the call as well, working alongside to assist in the need.

    Kontras

With a diverse work force as this, it being in a warehouse environment, and everyone having a bluetooth speaker broadcasting (some at more than a "personal" level) their own music, it can get a little noisy. In some cases, music that can be "offending", with offending language. Even though management tries to curb the issue, personal choices and volume levels still exist, and tend to get out of hand. Some people feel that personal volume level exists above the level of drowning out the PA announcements that can be important to their fellow co-workers in close proximity.

    Rat an das Management

Keep up the "family" attitude, it really shows you care not only for the benefit of the Company, but for the employees that consider this place "Home". Keep up the "Town Hall" meetings, it gives everyone a chance to see that even though people we may never see in the Company, come out and show they are just working in the background. Keep up the open walled feeling, it really shows the "team work" of the company, and that everyone can contribute to benefit of the company. I know that many of the Senior Management Staff have worked their way up from the rank and file, but you might consider a day that every management staff comes out on the floor, to show they can do what they are asking of their subordinates. It could help in making the bridge, that might, or could, exist in some employees minds, that management is not among the family, or has become too lofty for the benefit of the company.

Ich habe in Teilzeit bei Sephora gearbeitet

    Pros

Customer Always First, decent environment. Free products, usually what I don't want though.

    Kontras

Low pay, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning all day. More cleaning. Not a cleaner, skin care and MUA.
