    Pros

    Managers and colleagues were helpful. Solid financial stability. Retrenchment was unheard of so far. Reasonable variable bonus and AWS is very much guaranteed.
    Good learning ground.

    Kontras

    Limited career growth and progression if one does not fit into the mold of this company.
    Work during silent hours and weekends are inevitable.

    Kudos to the management on collecting feedback from the employees on how to make this company a better place to work for. However, implementation of certain decisions are rather uncalled for.

    I worked at SMC for a year and there were some good things about the company. For example, it is a very friendly environment.

    They low-ball you on the salary and there is no flexibility to work from home.

    reasonable pay against market. Training on regular basis

    Kontras

    management is HO based. No authority for branch..no trust on employee. everything is tracked and reported. Military organisation but no culture. No self respect. Abusing MD . Indian management .Only a name sake Japanese company . no iota of japanese culture

    Pros

    Car, Expense card, gas card, phone, health insurance, dental insurance, 401k match. they are willing to give you second chances, i worked here for about three years and ive done just about every job from machining to the sales academy. i made multipkle mistakes and they were willing to forgive and forget. pay is alright

    sometimes toxic enviornment with as many people that work at corporate theres always bound to be "bad seeds" but for the most part people were pretty friendly. communication from lower management seems to be non existant so if you need something quick, plan on it taking a while to get to upper managment

    The company wanted me to succeed as an intern and wanted to help me have a community, even sponsoring events for the interns to socialize.

    Great product line, product support, market leader, company car, benefits

    Company car GPS tracking algorithms, no value/incentive to more qualified candidates, poorly defined and implement bonus programs

    PROPERLY inform and compensate more qualified candidates at higher levels. For example, a knowledgeable candidate with an engineering background can work wonders in large accounts and should be able to feel that value from the day they are on boarded. Your 5 month training program is a great time to evaluate this potential.

    SMC needs a fresh superstar sales force around high dollar industries and starting everyone off on similar compensation across the entire country is absurd. The bonus program varies wildly and should be an extra incentive for good work, not supplemental income.

    Good technical sales talent today are very well informed and solid incentives ON PAPER, not "promises", are crucial to get good talent to say. I have heard very few good opinions regarding existing SMC sales force from veteran reps of other market leading manufacturers. This was difficult to absorb because the quality of the product line isn't being done the justice it deserves.

    Pros

    1- One of the best pay packages in industry, at least on paper
    2- Wide range of products and good brand name

    Kontras

    1- one of the worst HR policies- No good HRs in the system.
    2- Initial one month salary is taken from employees before joining and to be returned after 3 years
    3- the Incentive structure is so bad- incentives of a particular month will come after 6 months
    4- Forget about the Bonus payouts. It'll come very late or probably never come

    Rat an das Management

    Get a good Incentive structure in place and don't take employee's hard earned money before joining. You may include in CTC and pay at the end of 3 years like every other company.

    Free insurance, matching 401k, climate controlled

    Company is not an employee centered culture, too much nepotism, friends and family get promotions and jobs first. Company no longer promotes from within. Upper Management more concerned about outside appearance of building vs employee development. Company will spend money on anything but employees. Lower end of the pay scale and generalized job titles to keep employees down. High turnover in sales. Horrible ERP system, ruining company. Low employee moral.

    Change the culture of the company, become more employee centered and less about spending the money on everything else. Too focused on outside appearance and not employees.
