    The population of students, in particular the upperclassmen, is an absolute joy to work with at River Dell Regional High School.

    Pros

    For non-certified staff, it is a good environment as you are likely the only one to do your job, and with little oversight. You have the opportunity to craft your own solution to problems. There is a lot of freedom, flexibility and understanding with regard to family and work/life balance. Holiday and vacation time off can't be beat!

    Kontras

    Teaching staff is on a pay scale that is set in stone and well negotiated. The rest of the staff generally put on a scale as well, but without the large union backing, therefore increases are not near the cost of living. There are few, if any, opportunities for advancement unless you are a teacher or certified supervisor (generally available to former teachers).

    Find ways to reward non-certified staff (particularly well qualified and highly educated) in a way that is close to that of those working in industry at similar jobs as you are likely to only find underqualified individuals or those with poor attitudes. (This applies for most education positions independent of district)
