    Great company. Great pay. People are very friendly and helpful

    Long hours. PCS is understaffed so a lot of the work falls on the few engineers that work there at any time.

    Pros

    It was close to home. Had a good insurance plan. It paid the bills The people were good to work with.

    Management made mistakes and the employees paid the price. A lot of people lost their jobs so management could retire with their golden parachutes.

    Better be in step with the management team or your done. Plant Managers friends will always have their job saved.

    Excellent benefits, wages, great HR department, training, and opportunities for the ambitious. Multiple number of trades and pros.

    Kontras

    People get spoiled and forget what it is like on the "other side". Many layers of management, hard to express ideas. Simple tasks get complicated.

    Knowledge is power. Promotion shouldn't be based on relationships with superior, but on knowledge and know how. Feelings checked at the door.

    Pros

    Management is completed every day very well (There are so many managers that they are tripping each other to complete the daily tasks) , however no leadership on the horizon. They do not look what is going to happen tomorrow, They expect problems to be solved using the same modus operandum over and over again expecting different results - you heard that before? SALARY IS HUGE POSITIVE

    You pray everyday that you have a job tomorrow. You are surprised when you make it at the end of the day. You think automotive industry is bad, you have something else that is worst Potashcorp.

    Go to you office from all those meetings you have, get a piece of paper write what you did today that will make Potashcorp better - I know what is going to happen your sheet of paper will be blank at teh beginning however do not despair, make every day count.

    Pros

    There are a lot of good people there trying to do the right thing. Better with the recent firings. (what a couple of idiots). This is what happens when you put people in charge who follow the latest management fads and have no plant experience. It's okay to put marketing majors in charge but they should have the ability to listen and trust what engineers tell them.

    Upper management at the corporate level is horrible. They make sweeping decisions with no insight into what affect it will have on the site. If you plan to work here kiss work/life balance goodbye. Burn-em and turn-em. Management consultants tell the same story no matter who they are; some is warranted but when they tell you they can cut 20% of the workforce without stepping foot on site ??

    Pros

    The only good news is that maybe the company will be sold to a real mining company someday that can turn the place around. No one currently at Aurora knows anything about mining and the ore recovery is terrible. Get rid of ALL the current mine management and things might improve.

    PotashCorp has become so entrenched in political correctness, it rejects common sense and has lost all direction. Nothing gets done anymore. Everyone is too scared to take any initiative to improve things. Every decision is micro-managed from the top down. Still have high hopes for the new CEO, but he is still maintaining the failed polices of his predecessor.

    Change your company slogan from: “One Vision, One Team, One Success” – to: “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer”. It fits better with the Neo-Nazi philosophy at PotashCorp. This company is dead meat.

    Pros

    -An above average compensation scheme, but it is falling behind in some areas (IT). -Large financial resources but operates with a lean team of employees. -Stable company through ups and downs.

    Kontras

    -A lack of vision leads to short sighted decisions that attempt to minimize current costs at the expense of future ones. -Lean staff means staff have to take on multiple roles. Very little redundancy between jobs means that staff are often silo'd and there is only one person who can do certain things. -Fails to effectively utilize technology to optimize it's operations.
