    The cold calling - driving around all day, knocking on random strangers doors and using the spiel to hopefully convince them to hear you out later in an "appointment." The word appointment is in quotations because you generally don't set certain times to meet people, but instead the customer will just say whatever to a time window, like 6-8 or 8-10 where you can stop back by and hope they are are actually there and still...

    Help with expenses at first, maybe for the first two or three weeks until they really get good at it, before switching to an independent contractor arrangement. Plus a possibly longer training period if needed. Also, I think you should do away with the cold calling and provide leads. Other companies have started doing that and its worked out so much better. Its an outdated method, to be honest.

    Understand the agents ability to function in a high stress situations, allow the agent more freedom in their decisions. No mandatory meetings at 10:30 pm at the hotel.

    I have spent 30 yrs in insurance sales, one the best policy I have ever seen. Fair compensation. A great way to break into insurance sales. If you can make it here you need to get with a company with leads.

    They literally knock on random doors. Of course a good salesman can turn one sale into referrals. They literally have to get written to get permission from county/city due to knocking, knocking and more cold door knocking.

    I am making 80000 to 100000 a year selling 4 sales, 6 -8 appointments a week, never cold calling! If you would come out with a decent lead program (even having the agent pay a reasonable $ leads) I would be with you for life!

    Traveling is not as advertised Using the concept of an independent contractor to get out of paying for expenses Make you sign a contract as soon as they send it to you via email and do not advise you to get legal representation. Instead they let you look at it and sign it so if you ever leave they have a right to not pay you. Was not aware of racial profiling.

      Some of the people working there are very nice and positive. The product the company offers is valuable.

      Kontras

      Dangerous working conditions (driving on desolate dirt roads in the country at night). Micro-management even though it's commission only. Untrue promises concerning income expectations in the hiring process. Upper management allows harassment and discrimination by big producers.

      Don't just "sweep it under the rug" when told about discrimination and harassment by your sales leaders just because they are producing high numbers. It could come back to bite you later and cost more in the long run. The "offended" might not always go away quietly.
